Hi there Trip Advisor colleagues! We were an 18-man South African group who visited this lodge only a few days ago. We spent 3 fabulous days, experiencing the jungle at first hand, being introduced to its unique ape and bird life. We were spoilt by the staff who were greatly welcoming and who served up delicious breakfasts and dinners....we had...

The rooms are hot, the AC is anemic, the food is marginal, the service is poor, the toilets do not accept toilet paper and taking a shower floods the bathromn, but it is your only option unless you want to live on a boat to see the orangutans - and after all that is what you are here for and...

Rimba is a riverside lodge of wooden walkways and bungalow rooms in the jungle on the banks of the Sekonyer river. Rooms are basic (especially the bathrooms), but contain everything you need including a mosquito net, AC unit, tea kettle, a small desk, a few hangers, lights and plugs, and hot water in the bathroom. You can hear your neighbors...

We thank you for your report on your stay at our Rimba Orangutan Eco Lodge. The structure of this lodge was built in 1989 to a Dayak design which we have not touched in respect to the local culture. The rooms are made of Iron wood (Ulin) which is dark. The bathrooms are simple and clean but you have hot...

We spent 3 nights at the lodge and two on the boat in January 2017. Everything met our expectations -- and Hakim very much exceeded them! The orangutans are, of course, worth the trip. Night hikes were an unexpected bonus. After several orangutan trips we suggested a different itinerary for our last day of birding, and Hakim arranged it on...

Vickie and I had a special time at Rimba(27th Feb 2017). The staff are great and the guides full of knowledge. We saw orangutans on both sides of the river(limited jungle one side and national park the other side), Lucky to see them in the 'wild' fending for themselves and up close and personal at the feeding stations. Our trips...

I had a fantstic time here. Its surrounded by special wildlife. Guide Hakim a real expert. Trips on river so relaxing! Orangutans what can you say in the trees above the lodge. More people need to get outdoors and see what really matters.

The lodge has extremely friendly and competent staff with great English. The rooms are comfortable though basic with the bathrooms being very dark and the water laying stagnant in the shower. Dinner is tasty and there is enough of it to go around for sure. The location is great, within walking distance to Songai Sekonyer village if the path was...

We had a wonderful experience going to see the orangutans and staying at the Rimba Ecolodge! After trekking around in the jungle, with the heat and travelling up river in the boat everyday, it was MARVELLOUS to come back to a nice shower, cool room and a steady warm bed at night! For us, after seeing the boat accommodations on...

Two nights/ one and two half days is enough. The choice is to stay (sleep, all meals) on your klotok (boat), or to stay over two nights at Rimba Lodge. We chose the overnight-at-Rimba-Lodge option, and it worked fine. I would only do the sleep-on-klotok option if you were a family group or very close friends. Rimba Lodge is seriously...

Refernce your report on your Endang room at Rimba. We will look into your comments and thank you for your support. One of our tours is combined klotok and lodge which may be more appropriate.
