I booked Balamaga for my wife to stay as a single traveler. The whole experience was most professional, the driver was on time, the guest house staff were most welcoming and made her breakfast professionally so she should travel on-ways. I was very impressed with the communication from this accommodation and along with the beautiful surroundings, comfortable room , my wife felt safe and enjoyed her stay. Thank you for looking after her.

Balamaga is a beautiful and quiet place in Bukoba. It has a lush, green garden with beautiful flowers and birds. The house is spacious and well equipped. The general manager is a very frriendly woman who enjoys having guests. She provided us with anything we asked for, such as arranging for transport or information about Bukoba Town.

During our stay at Balamaga B&B we greatly enjoyed the beautiful garden and the peaceful atmosphere it exudes. The flowers and greenery are clearly maintained with great care, which really adds to the charm of the place. What impressed even more, however, was the genuine friendliness of the staff and owners. We felt welcome from the first moment and nothing was asking them too much. This personal contact made our stay extra special. Highly recommended for those looking for peace, hospitality and beautiful surroundings.

We have had a wonderful 3 day stay here, a haven for us. Adelaida was a wonderful host and it felt like a home from home. Highly recommend . We got much needed rest and recharge before heading onto the next step of our journey. The breakfast was delicious.

This B&B was recommended to us by friends as a great place to stay on our way from Uganda to Serengetti etc. Bukoba is the starting point of ferries and flights to Mwanza over lake Victoria.
Balamaga is located on hill top easy to find, has a great garden with many species of flowers, is very clean, has friendly staff and fantastic views over lake Victoria and is quit affordable. Quite different from the ordinary hotels (and no lake flies).
The B&B is only 2 years old and very well decorated.
Meals/breakfast very special.
Unfortunately we only stayed 3 nights!

We - a group of 7 Dutch people - are more or less regular travellers to this region to inspect some children's projects we manage. This is the first time we stayed in Balamaga (9 nights), and it is really a great place to stay. The service is impeccable, and the manager, Ms. Xaveria William is a great cook and hostess; the other staff is friendly and helpful as well. The entire outfit is of western standards, and the garden is a paradise. It is a pity that there is no internet facility. It would be helpful if you have a car at your disposal, for the location is somewhat excentric.

What a nice place to stay in Bukoba. Before we used to stay at Victorious Perch but this place tops it. Located just outside town, just a bit above the bay the view over Lake Victoria is amazing. Balamaga is located in a residential area so no noise at night.
It is very clean, spacious and the garden must have cost a fortune. While having breakfast in the morning one can overlook the lake. Breakfast is served by "dada" (Swahili for Sister :-) ) The last days of our stay we met the owner, Mrs Stella. She is very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is good. We were there with our two small kids (2 & 4yrs old) and they were allowed to watch (our own) DVD's on the television set. At night we went to Victorious Perch Hotel or the nearby Kolping Hotel for dinner.(100 meters down the road)Some night we brought the food to Balamaga to eat it there. Overall a nice place to spend some time while visiting friends in the area.

This is the place to stay when visiting Bukoba. Amazing gardens. Staff Adelaide very friendly and helpful. Gave us ideas of things to do. Clean comfortable rooms. Good hot water. Good breakfasts both hot and cold. Catered breakfasts according to our needs. Adelaide was caring and made ginger tea for us when we had bad tummy’s and also baked our gluten free bread for us when we supplied the gluten free flour. Great communication by emails with owner Stella/Frits. Thanks for wonderful stay. 100% will come back again!

Passing through Bukoba 1 night. View of lake but what is most impressive is the gardens. Good breakfast. Could not order food at guesthouse itself, but staff organized takeout from another place and it was delicious with huge portions and very reasonable price. Very pleasant staff.

Visited this B&B in 2007 just after opening and visited again recently on our way North.
The B7B is located almost opposite to the rather Spartan Kolping hotel but offers spacious comfortable rooms with bath/shower and a fantastic garden. Breakfast served by manager Ade is great with fresh fruits from the garden and home made bread and yoghurt. Meals can be ordered from the Kolping hotel.
We were informed that the owner is European/Dutch which becomes clear from the furnishing. We were sorry to leave after a 2 night stay but will not easily forget thi B&B and wonderful garden.
