We chose Gangehi as it seemed to have one of the best priced over the water luxury options in the Maldives. The downside for some is that it is a very barebones and simple boutique resort (no pool for example), but this suited us perfectly as it does not lend itself to families with kids. For my wife and I...

We travelled to Gangehi for our honeymoon, and it was everything we dreamed of! We had an overwater deluxe villa which was worth the splurge for this special occasion. It was kept spotless by our lovely room attendant, who was unobtrusive, polite, and always accommodating. It was accessed by an overwater boardwalk from which fish could be seen and even...

Gangehi Island is beautiful. Well maintained, elegant and efficient use of the space. Accommodation is good. Spacious and comfortable. Activities such as yoga, sea exercises, tour of the island and its flora and fauna were good. Not too many people and so it was never too crowded. The Ginger Spa was fantastic and I pigged out on Thai Massages and...

After travelling over 15 hours to get to Gangehi Island and months of planning we arrived to find a beautiful island just as the pictures had shown. Unfortunately the service was not what you would expect. The activities manager, Alessandro, who "welcomed’" us upon arrival, seemed very disinterested and was not in any way welcoming. There was no attempt to...

We had a room in a terraced block under what looked like the staff quarters. I suppose you get what you pay for and no upgrades available, it's clean but pretty basic with zero view. We were on b&b so paid for all other meals which we found expensive , eur40 + + per person and around same for the...

Small and perfectly formed paradise, this is an beautiful small island which gives it somewhat a n exclusive feel. It's exactly as you see in the pictures and I'd struggle to find areas to improve on...with just 45 rooms, it never feels crowded and you can walk around and see no one else. All prices are in euros. Mealtimes are...

We went for a week from 21-28 September 2013. We were lucky, the weather was fantastic. We chose a bungalow that was on stilts in the water. It was amazing watching the variety of fish that were all around and underneath it all day long. I'm glad we didn't have a bungalow on the beach or near the greenery as...

My wife and a couple of my daughters returned to Gangehi this July, having first visited in July 12. It was as good as ever - great peace, great food and wine, and the dive team are just fab. This is not a major hotel chain, it is an independent hotel - don't expect the efficiency of a Hyatt /...

Despite the relatively low room rates, Gangehi is a nice island resort that has everything that matters: great house reef and sea life, great sand bank which stretches out >200m from the island, comfortable wooden bungalows....... Minus swimming pools, concrete structures, tennis courts etc that spoil the atmosphere.... I have seen a few other hotels that cost more, but Gangehi...

It's our 3rd time to Maldives and the 1st time to Gangehi (Sep. 11~15). People is asking me for comparision while I left no words as each island has its own features. As a small island with less rooms, you'll never feel crowded. Most of guests come from Europe and Asia. Thus I think somehow Gangehi is like an international...
