Hostel Puerto Casilda is exceptional in Cuba. The property is a very well maintained 3 story structure with an ingenious design that brings light to every room. We had two rooms for our stay - one overlooking the hotel’s courtyard and one tucked higher at the back just below the rooftop terrace. Both rooms were beautifully decorated with comfortable queen beds and lovely en suite bathrooms. We used the roof top terrace for our evening glass of wine. Ana, our host, made us delicious, very generous breakfasts. She also organized taxis for us to the beach - which had terrific swimming and snorkeling as well as drinks and snacks - and to Trinidad where we were fortunate to have a very interesting walking tour provided by Ana’s son. Another key reason we loved Hostel Puerto Casilda was the way the structure has been built around a living tree that winds its way from the hotel’s courtyard vestibule up to above the roof top terrace. You can sit in the vestibule’s comfortable rocking chairs or have your breakfast in the haven provided by this tree, the orchids growing on its trunk and the rainforest plants growing around its base. Altogether, we very much enjoyed our 5 day stay at Hostel Puerto Casilda and highly recommend this unique property.

Ana and her family are very welcoming and accommodated our large group, they were quick to aid in information about getting in and around trinidad, finding the best possible deals for us.

All rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. There were A/C + Fans, and hot water with great pressure. Each of our rooms also included a stocked mini fridge.

Not to forget there's a terrace, which was perfect for our group to hang out on evenings.

I genuinely enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend to others!

This was, without doubt, our best stay in Cuba ! We planned to stay for 2 nights and ended up staying for 4 ! The welcome, by Ana, is really friendly and the breakfast is really generous and of excellent quality. I think it was the best breakfast we had in Cuba. They also have lots of activity suggestions for you (do take the catamaran to the island as it's great). We also had a great morning with Ana's son Jorge, visiting the old sugar plantations and talking about life in Cuba; and he even got our flat tyre fixed in less than an hour on a Sunday (wouldn't be able to do that in France !). The rooms are exceptionally clean, spacious, recently renovated and really well equipped. The honesty bar and the various, beautifully maintained, outside spaces and terraces are what makes it really special. We just loved watching life go by from the upstairs terrace with a nightcap. It's their thoughtfulness and attention to detail that means that they have got this so right ! Thank you both very much !!

We had a great stay at Hostal Puerto Casilda. The house is really beautiful and the breakfast and dinner we got there was great. It can sometimes be hard to find good food in Cuba so it was perfect that we had the possibility to get breakfast and dinner from Anna.

Ana the owner was super helpful, as was her son. The place itself it very cute, the rooms were comfortable, the fridge well stocked with water and beer, and a great breakfast was provided too. This place is not in Trinidad, but Casilda, which is USD 5 cab ride from town (although it is closer to the wonderful beach). Ana helped us with taxis, transfers, and organising a day trip on a boat too. Really enjoyed our stay, thank you.

Great hostess and great hostal. Away from the frantic Trinidad city but easy to acces.
Very good breakfasts and easy going/adaptative hostess.
Clean and large rooms with great bathrooms.
We do recommand this place in between Trinidab City and Ancon beaches.

We decided to start our 10-day tour of Cuba in Casilda as we are regular divers in the Playa Ancon region. This time instead of staying in All-inclusive hotels as we usually do we decided to go around in Casa Particulars.

As we have many friends in this region of Cuba , i was referred to Ana Sariol's Casa by many of them commenting on the quality of her Hostal. As we were 2 couples, I booked 2 rooms for 4 nights with her by Internet before leaving Canada and all communications were easy and relatively fast.

Landing at Varadero Airport we rented our car and left for our normally 4hrs drive to Casilda , that took 6hrs because we unfortunately took the wrong route. We should have gone through Cienfuegos instead of Sancti Spiritus but it doesn’t matter cause we got to see many interesting things on the way. We finally arrived in Casilda and found Casa Hostal Puerto Casilda right away off the main road. Where Ana received us with a glowing smile with her son.

As you enter her casa, you are embraced by a beautiful entrance that leads to a center court where you eat your meals or relax on cast Iron tables and chairs and rocking chairs. The Ambiance in the casa is appeasing as you enter it. It is decorated with very good taste. She has renovated it herself with her father. She then led us to our rooms that are on the 2nd floor and we were as please with the quality of the rooms as of the surroundings in her casa.

The quality of the beds are in perfect condition and the rooms are big and roomy with new air conditioning units installed on the walls with a very nice bathroom. A refrigerator in each room, staked with beer, soft drinks, water are at your disposition for different prices.

Breakfasts are plentiful and of a great quality with a different freshly pressed juice every morning, eggs, ham, cheese, pancakes, fresh fruit and coffee.
They make a sublimely great Mojito for a small price, that we enjoyed every evening before our super and they are so good we usually took 2 per night. We stayed in one night and had a super prepared by her! She asked us what we would like to eat and we decided on Pargo a fish similar to Red Snapper.

The quality of the meal was above and beyond the quality you would find in any restaurant in the Trinidad region for way less. The size of the Fish was humungous with all side dishes you could think of. Everything was so refined and tasty. Ana is a great chef! She was nervous as my husband is an executive chef, but we can definitely say she has nothing to worry about.

The Casa is a short 10-minute drive from downtown Trinidad and the Beach at Playa Ancon. Which make it the perfect place for resting after a day at the Beach and before a night out in town.

I cannot thank Ana enough for all the help she gave us when the battery in our car was dead and she took care of calling the rental company and taking care of the repair while we went diving. And for calling the other Casa’s we rented to confirm our stays. I highly recommend this place and we are looking forward to returning on our next stay!

After spending 3 days in Havana and a 5 hour drive in the most amazing 1951 Studebaker Taxi with Onel, we arrived at this wonderful Casa Particular in Casilda! We were greeted by Ana and her son Jorge and enjoyed being at this lovely home for 5 nights! Our best memories of Cuba are enhanced by our stay at Puerto de Casilda! Ana is a most attentive hostess, prepares delicious food and drinks, and the home is an oasis of beauty and calm. Our upstairs tiled rooms were spotless and quiet, and we had our own veranda as well as the downstairs sitting and eating area. It's interesting to explore Casilda morning or evening on foot, you can ride a horse drawn cart into Trinidad, and/or take a taxi to the local beaches. I recommend Taxi rides with Joan to the beach areas at sunset. He will accommodate whatever time you want picked up for return to home.

This is a very nice casa in the quiet village of Casilda.

Ana is a friendly host who gave us some good suggestions for what to do with our time. We had good meals and especially enjoyed the mango juice (picked from her garden).

The room we had was very good - nicely decorated and large - with a quiet air conditioning unit

Casilda itself is very close to Trinidad (5 CUC by car / 1 CUC for horse taxi), and staying out of town gave the best of both worlds - go in Trinidad to explore, and return to the space and quieter Casilda.

Lived with Ana for 5 days, and I must say that its the absolutely best casa we have lived in, on our trip of 4 weeks. The casa is nice and new, and you do feel welcome. The food was very good, and Ana was very friendly and helpfull. My best recommandations.
