This is a lovely base for exploring the south of Shetland and the house was comfortable with a big bed and nicely-decorated bathroom. There are sea views and in the summer the sun never really sets, so you have a great glimpse of the phenomenon of light at midnight. Breakfast was large and overall I felt no request would've been... Travelled to Shetland for a wedding in the South Mainland. Hayhoull recommended by friend. We stayed five nights. Mary is a wonderful host and it really felt like a home from home. Our ground floor room was very comfortable with a lovely view and was well equipped. Extra touches in the bathroom. No TV in bedroom and internet and mobile... More

Hayhoull is an excellent choice for a B&B in the south of Shetland mainland. Mary is a superb host and a warm welcome awaits you. The accommodation is contemporary, clean and immaculate in its presentation. The bedrooms are homely, the lounge space large, and a breakfast of your choice is available. The location of Hayhoull is close to St Ninians... More

Wonderful hospitality awaits at Les & Mary's welcoming and friendly B&B. Cosy modern rooms (en suite shower), comfy beds and a truly fantastic location 5 minutes walk from St Ninian's Isle. Relaxed family atmosphere and large guest lounge overlooking the bay with library, loads of local information, satellite TV and squashy sofas. Great choice for breakfast too, all being freshly... I visited (and reviewed) Hayhoull this time last year. It's still wonderful! I had a different room, this time I experienced the twin room upstairs which was just as lovely as the downstairs double I had last time. The breakfasts are wonderful, the welcome warm, and the location spectacular. I went down to the beach to swim before breakfast. Recommended.

We had a wonderful stay at hayhoull. If you're looking for a real, personal B&B experience, Hayhoull is a fine address for that, without any guesthouse-y-ness. Hayhoull is located in Bigton near St Ninian's Isle (the one with the tombolo) and ideally placed for walks or short drives in the southern part of Mainland. Lerwick isn't that far by car,... More

We spent 4 nights here. Mary is the ideal host and provides a property with genuinely stunning views over St Ninian's Isle. Our bedroom was fine; the lounge - with its large sea-view windows, comfy chairs, TV, games, music and a vast library including local guides and maps - was excellent. The breakfast is everything you could want, freshly cooked... More
