We stopped here for a meal prior to getting on the 8pm ferry from Port Askaig. Very glad we did and we will definitely be back the next time we visit Islay. We were warmly welcomed by Julie and Carole who looked after us for our last couple of hours on the island. The food was locally sourced, great quality...

We were taken here on the recommendation of our Taxi driver on our first night and were very glad he did. The selection of whiskys was amazing and varied with some very unusual bottlings. We ate here on a number of occasions and found the food superb and very good value for money. Ewan and his father couldn't have been...

The smell apparently emanates from the two dogs that are allowed free reign throughout the entire place including the guest areas. The room was...

I've visited the Ballygrant restaurant for evening meals on all my visits to Islay over the last few years and never been disappointed by the good service and excellent quality food. The menu is traditional but with a good variation of dishes available. The cheesecake on the sweet menu this summer was something special and made in house, a must...

Just a perfect family ran inn, clean, good food "cheese cake to die for" and super friendly, the owners couldn't do enough for us. And the bar, it's out of this word, you just have to visit to experience the bar. I wish I could have stayed longer to have a good few more in their :) highly recommended.

We stay at The Ballygrant Inn one night every year when we arrive on Islay before we stay for a couple of weeks in self catering. It’s a nice small hotel, with good rooms, pleasant beds, a great whisky bar, very good food and a more than friendly staff. We can recommend it to everyone. When we arrived this august,...

We visited the Ballygrant Inn as part of a group of 16 people on a whisky course. Without exception everyone in the party had a fantastic meal cooked and served brilliantly . Fantastic choice of whiskies, spoilt for choice . I had pork cooked in whisky and mustard sauce which was a delight to eat and my husbands salmon was...
