I can't recommend this popular, family-run hotel too highly. It is in a beautiful part of the Auvergne and is excellent value for money. My room was both spacious and comfortable and had its own balcony. The staff were very kind and made my trip to see my daughter and her friends a great success. Be sure to book a...

We arrived resembling drowned rats after being caught in a downpour on our bicycles during a family cycling holiday. A safe place was found for the bikes and we were able to relax and dry out in the lovely ground floor rooms. The boys really enjoyed the indoor pool. We had a brilliant meal in the restaurant which was busy...

Returned in June 2014 having used La Sapiniere as a stopover the year before. Everything was exactly as we expected this time round. Welcoming reception service, drinks served on terrace after we had unpacked, very good meal at the restaurant which is still frequented by a great number of locals. Different room this time which was slightly bigger (again on...

A slightly odd place, I guess a conversion of an old building, but mostly new construction. There was ample parking, and a friendly receptionist who showed us to our room. There is no lift and most rooms are on the ground floor, but ours was up a flight of stairs. It was a large room with a large bathroom fitted...

Not too far from the 'Meridienne' Motorway, this family-run hotel set in a small park is rather pleasant in 3* category. Bedding average but room very clean, quiet and pleasant, yet simple. Staff professional and very helpful but overall experience can prove expensive for the category.

This place is very run down you can hear everything in the next room all night the food can only be described as Jocky rations after a day on the slopes you need something substantial not a piece of meat with some leaves around it! I waited all of my stay to get a tap fixed ! Not worth the...

Had booked ahead based on French hotel/restaurant guide reviews and wasn't in the least disappointed. Assigned a very good sized ground floor room with mini-patio. Staff were very helpful in ensuring we had a room that we were satisfied with. Nice, quiet dining area to the rear of the property where we were able to have a drink on arrival....

Lovely, large, individually decorated room in typical French style, large bed, sofa, coffee table, large TV, great bathroom, mini bar, patio area (as we had a ground floor room) but 1st floor rooms had large balconies. Beautiful grounds, outside seating, nice pool/spa, large car park which is locked at night. Very quiet location out of town, but an easy 5...

This is a great location for a romantic step over. Each of the 11 room is different. If you can climb stairs, take room 107, the biggest white room with rod iron bed and balcony. The TV is huge. Notice the restaurant is not open on monday, but they have the Hotel de La Poste reserved for you. There is...

We too came across this hotel by accident after a day's long, hot drive from northern France. It's uphill from the centre of Brioude in a very quiet location, with a pleasing view of the town and countryside. We got a very good price as a result of a last minute cancellation and had a large, pleasant room in a...
