Bergwoning Adventures offers many types of activities from horse riding, quadbikes and two types of 4x4 routes. There are several other adventure activities available. You stop at the Di Bus stop across from Kiara Lodge in Clarens where you pay for whichever activity you would like to enjoy. We opted for the 4x4 track, the short course where it is... More

Good evening, What a beautiful place with so much potential but what absolutely disgusting ablution facilities. When we arrived there on the Saturday there was no signs to say where we must go to. I send a sms to find out got no reply and eventually phoned. We were told we can pitch our tent anywhere. The owners only came... More

The camping site is very nice. Limited stands. Very quiet on the side of a dam. I have stayed here about 3-4 times So why am I rating the place so poorly? The ablutions are primitive. The owner keeps on promising to improve them but hasn't done a thing. This time round the just felt dirty and slimy. Great site,... More

We stayed in Mayfair hut and what an unforgettable experience under the stars. The views are breathtaking. If You need an escape from the city this is definitely the place to be. Very basic, no TV but it's all you need. Highly recommended

We camped as a group with two stands and one hut. The views and sunsets are spectacular, and it is really quiet. The bedding in the hut wasn't clean and we had to get it swapped out. There was an unmade bed in the "loft" area, so the kids stayed out of there. Every morning there was a problem with... More

We had a really good experience with Bergwoning Adventures, however I cannot comment on the accommodation as we stayed at neighboring Kiara Lodge. We booked a morning horseback riding trip up the mountain as well as a sun-downer quad trip and we had so much fun! On both trips the guides were really friendly and informative. The horses are well-trained... More

We spent the May long week in in Micky Finn’s cottage. It is in a lovely spot with panoramic views, a photographer’s delight. It is basic stay and was adequate for our needs. It is approximately 7 kms from the Golden Gate area. Some suggestions for improvement would be more training, supervision and checklists for the cleaning and maintenance staff... More

The setting is really beautiful and this place could be very good with a little more attention to detail as the accommodation is basic. We stayed I Micky Finns cottage which was very adequate for the weekend. When we arrived however the cleanliness was a bit lacking in the crockery cupboards and next to the breakfast nook. We reported the... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and throughly enjoyed it. the view is spectacular and even our little Renault clio made it down the dirt road. However, when a 2 day uncharacteristic rainy patch hit, the owners were so lovely and offered to come and fetch us if we got stuck. The sunsets and the stars from here are amazing... More

We met the very friendly owners in a restaurant artichoke. They invited us to their place. They showed us their place 1 km from the golden gate national park. When we saw beautiful nature of their surroundings we immediately decided to stay there. Because other places were ocupied they gave us the big house suitable for 14 people. It was... More

“The hut has 2 double beds, but the 2nd bed is a bit difficult to get to as it is built on a platform and the ladder has no support on the sides. I would also not get to the hut too late at night due to it being a farm road with no lighting.”
