Clarens is formerly a tiny farming village, which has grown over the last 25 years to become a haven for artists and a mountain getaway on weekends for Joburgers. there is a large selections of bars, restaurants and galleries. all in this very safe small town where waling even late at night is not a problem. The guesthouse itself very...

The warm welcome by staff and owners, the beautiful room and all the spectacular views from your bed ... were just amazing ... I immediately extended my stay for two more nights. Will go back to Lake Clarens any day!! Definitely need (at the very least) two full days to enjoy (some of) the splendor.

Beautiful place, old world and our host thought of the smallest detail to make my stay enjoyable! From the heated towel rail, underfloor heating, milk in the fridge to the breakfast where you can exactly choose your plate. Will be back soon.

We stayed for one night during our annual road trip - this year being 40 nights in 11 properties, so this review is relatively objective. Having stayed in Clarens four times previously, the village has lost a little of it's wow factor for us, but provided a good yardstick to review this property. Pleasant location overlooking fields, pond and the...

We booked to stay here for 2 nights through SafariNow and everything looked great on their website. When we arrived we had been given an outside room (cottage some have called it) with a bathroom - we were shocked and refused to stay there. Copper pipes were visible in the shower and the TV only got SABC channels - when...

We were welcomed by the most friendly, knowledgeable hosts - learnt just about everything about the town from them. View is stunning and the breakfast scrumtious. Restaurant is right next door. All of this within a short stroll into town.

The rooms,2 adjoining were exactly what we asked for but are a little tired and in need of some TLC.On the other hand the prices were very reasonable, the breakfast outstanding, the service very good and the staff/owner very attantive. There are other rooms naturally but I didn't investigate them. Would I stay there agaih - very definitely.

The breakfast was what made the experience ultimate, as for the rest, it was mediocre. The main lights kept tripping and even when checking in, it was not hospitable at all - having the security guard show us in but not dressed appropriately nor offering us the welcoming experience that we were looking for. Friendliness goes a long way. The...

Made welcome and settled into our room. Shortly afterwards there was a lightening storm which resulted in the lights continuously fusing. On informing the staff we were upgraded to a beautiful room overlooking the lake. A business can be judged by how it handles a problem and Bruce certainly handle this one very well. Enjoyed having breakfast on the patio...

We would recommend to anyone to stay in this place! We stayed 3 nights and we were very happy. We had a self-catering flat which was clean, spacious and very cosy. We were very happy there during our stay. Definitely would recommend to anyone to stay in this lovely place. And the views over the mountains are stunning!
