This is a convenient place to stay overnight if you are spending a day at the wonderful Herberton Historical Village. I rented a single room for $40 which is pretty good considering you get a continental breakfast included. The staff were friendly and hospitable and they shouted me a beer while I waited for my room to be made up....

Ok, well where can I start. I could point out all the negatives, but to give a fair go I'll highlight the pluses'. Reasonably priced and continental brekky included. Bed was really comfy. Good atmosphere and staff really nice. Take cash to pay for accommodation or whatever just in case the eftpos machine has a hissy fit. If you want...

When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by one of the proprietors, Rachel. On being asked whether the bedrooms were clean she said "Well I clean them, so I think they're clean!". We found the room indeed to be clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Even the showers were hot! To top it off they supplied us with a delightful...

Had an enjoyable evening in the public bar. Owner/barmen very friendly and looked after the visiting patrons very well. Food was very good & reasonably priced. Good choice of wines, bottleshop price + $2 corkage. Didn't get to see the accommodation but listening to other people acceptable. Shared bathrooms only downside.

We decided to stop here on our way to Innisfail for a bite to eat. So glad we did. We both had the $8.50 lunch special - he had the hamburger with chippies and I had the chicken caesar wrap with chippies... OMG those chippies were the best we have had! A nice cold drink with this lunch was more...

Decided to have lunch at this hotel with my lady. Surroundings very pleasant and charming. The very expensive steak sandwich seemed to fit our needs. Big mistake, steak could only be chewed if sawn into small pieces. Salad content very mean. Very poor value. Personal hygiene of bar staff needs addressing and is offensive. Nice clean windows. Service was pleasant...

We were on the road and decided to stay on whim. This timber and corrigated iron pub has been going for a very long time; well over a century. Various additions have been made over the years but this only adds interest. It is a basic 'working man's pub' and is very good value. It was winter and our first...

There were 27 of us for lunch which is a lot for any place to cope with all at once but the cheerful crew at The Royal Hotel managed really well. The menu was varied but typical pub meals which was what we all wanted. Everyone on our coach trip was happy and were thanking the Royal Hotel staff for...

We had just one night at this terrific old pub in the cute historic town of Herberton. It's original and authentic not five star pretentious. So the floors creak, the decor is basic and the bathroom is shared ... not with many others though. It is the perfect small town pub experience. The room and the bathroom were extremely clean...
