Detailed Reviews
We stayed here for a weekend and didn't want to leave - the Bothy is a jewel and Tim and Mary are the most welcoming hosts you could wish for. The accommodation is exceptional and the attention to detail impressive. Fabulous setting, lovely art, super comfy bed, yummy breakfasts, and although we didn't need to use the kitchen it had everything you could possibly need for a longer stay. Tim and Mary have thought of everything and we will definitely be going back.

This is quite simply the best B&B that I have ever stayed in. The setting is beautiful, the Bothy a wonderful blend of comfort and tranquillity. The accommodation offers so much more than is typical, with its own kitchen, sitting area and patio. In addition, the decoration is stunning with lots of fabulous artwork. But perhaps most importantly, Mary and Tim are the most welcoming and generous hosts.

We stayed at the Bothy for an Easter Break during lambing season which was great as we were right next to a field full of inquisitive spring lambs watching our every move! Mary seems to run the B&B side of things more than Tim and was a great host - so laid back and welcoming with some great suggestions where to eat and drink. As the B&B is completely separate from Tim and Mary's home you could come and go as you please which suited us down the ground. The Bothy is relatively compact (being an old outhouse/barn that has been converted) but has everything you need fitted in well (the bathroom is very small but very nice and well equipped with a big shower). There is a little kitchen with teas, coffees and biscuits so you could relax without having to rely on Mary and Tim. The breakfasts were very tasty - you can choose to have them delivered in a big basket at whatever time suits you by Mary or if you're feeling sociable you can head up to Mary and Tim's house where Mary will cook you something fabulous (all locally sourced where possible and with home made jams etc). Really comfortable bed! All in all, the Bothy was a cracking little place in a pretty spot with fabulous views and I would recommend it to anyone.

I visited The Bothy after meeting owners Tim Dicker and Mary Wraith at a B&B in Scotland in June 2009. My husband and I dropped by Tim and Mary's home, The White Cottage, on our way south. The Bothy, on the same property, is a separate stone cottage with a large bedroom and complete, new home appliances. Windows face sweeping views of south Shropshire hills and valleys. Tim is an artist, and both Tim and Mary have creative, bright, human tastes in their decorating. They are both terrific cooks, too; remember that The Bothy IS a B&B. Please note that I haven't stayed at The Bothy. I feel confident in recommending it based on meeting Tim and Mary and having toured it. The area is popular with hikers and history lovers.
