My husband and I stayed here on the first night of a walking/hiking holiday through Shropshire Way and Offa's Dyke. The property is a prime location for walking around Bishop's Castle and getting the lay of the land. Of the B&B's we stayed out on this holiday, this bedroom and bathroom were by far the largest with the bathroom having a shower and bathtub. The bedroom has plenty of space to store your luggage. The hostess was warm and welcoming. A hot English breakfast in the morning was the perfect way to begin our day. The house cat was cute and friendly.

Absolutley amazing stay. From the minute we walked into Bank House, we were mesmorised by the decor and character the house brings and how warming Gerry was. Very knowledgable about the local area and the special added touches how homemade lemon drizzle cake and shortbread in the room was the best. We requested an iron and ironing board prior to travelling and this was already in the room on our arrival. The room was spectactular, beautiful views, huge bath and powerful shower. Gerry replenished toiletries daily and made the bed. More surpises at breakfast time, with homemade jams and marmalades (Gerry even let us keep some jam), along with freshly squeezed orange and apple juice. Breakfast was delicious, ample food and lots of choice. Location was fabulous, with local pubs, restuarants including an Indian and a chip shop. Coop and Spar right on the door step. Gerry also had lots of maps for walkers should you wisj to explore further.

A really great stay in a comfortable and spacious B and B. Gerry our host was welcoming and helpful. I shared the biggest twin room I have stayed in with the added bonus of a bath and separate shower (other rooms were large but no bath). Breakfast was ample with homemade and local ingredients and plenty of choice.

Arrived hours before official check in time, but some pre-contact with Gerry allowed us to park up, and get into the room. As the only guests, Gerry took the time to point out some local walks, recommend food places and generally settle us into our stay. The room was great. We had a room with a roll top bath and shower. The bed is huge and there's complimentary tea, coffee and some lemon cake and shortbread too. Breakfast is ordered by ticking off various options in a sheet. The breakfast was great; homemade bread, and food cooked to order. We sat out on the patio when we were fine and were visited by the cat. The local area has some walks through beautiful countryside and the town was quiet (we visited on a Wednesday). The Six Bells pub at the bottom of the street was doing fish and chips to order, while the Castle hotel at the top has great views of the local area. Overall, a great stay in a great place.

Just spent 3 nights at Bank House, and echo comments made in previous reviews. The house is full of character, including creaking floor boards, really lovely. Gerry can't do enough for you, the perfect host. Hospitality tray includes a whole lemon drizzle cake, shortbread coffee and tea. I Highly recommend this B & B if you are visiting this part of Shropshire. The small town is very quirky and there are several pubs some serving food. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you Gerry.

We have been coming to Bishops Castle for several years and always stay at the Bank House, would not stay anywhere else. Geraldine does a wonderful breakfast with fresh fruit and a selection of cereals. Greets guests with tea and cake and the rooms are spotless and beds comfortable. This wonderful house has all its original decor. Would highly recommend it.

The b and b is so well run by Gerry. A lovely house and a really special home cooked breakfast. Gerry was very friendly and helpful and answered all my questions beforehand with patience and clarity. The room was comfortable and clean. A great base to explore Shropshire. Would recommend.

Having trekked in very warm sun for fifteen miles up and down the Long Mynd, we needed a perfectly relaxing place to stay, and we found it! Gerry is such a naturally warm host that from the moment you enter Bank House, you feel at home - aided and abetted with a great slab of lemon drizzle cake and mugs of tea! The house is very atmospheric, steeped in the 17th-century, with many surviving features from the splendid oak panelling in the lounge to the creaking floorboards in the bedroom. The bedroom was very spacious, light and airy with two good windows, a superking size bed with immaculate linen, and a large shower and bathroom. Plentiful supplies of toiletries, tea and coffee. The location of Bank House is ideal for exploring the many attractions of Shropshire, and especially for the many treks in the Hills, and other sites such as Ludlow and Stokesay Castles. Gerry serves an excellent breakfast spread of hot and cold food and there are several restaurants in Bishops Castle providing quality suppers. Many thanks, Gerry. We look forward to staying here again. Bank House is a real treasure!
