Nice hotel along main street. Rooms are very clean with nice amenities and fully stocked kitchenettes. Recommended for the family traveling and looking for a hotel option in the area. Short wall to downtown and an easy drive to Nelson or the Parks.

We stayed here for two nights for our visit to Abel Tasman. Room was very spacious and clean, very comfortable! We really enjoyed the large Spa! Internet (wifi) is not free of charge. After having agreed with the charges we found an unacceptable poor wifi connection to which reception replied we should use the wired internet?! (On a Ipad..... Really?!)...

We hadn't booked and stopped in to check out the availability, we were nicely greeted by Jane and taken to a nice spacious room that was clean and had everything we needed, Jane also pointed out the must see places while staying in Motueka. This motel is close to the centre of town and a great place to stay.

My friend and I stayed there while traveling the top part of the South Island of NZ and could recommend it to anyone. Just a short walk to the town shops with plenty of novelty shops to look at. The Avalon was very clean and well appointed and would definitely stay there again.

We had not booked this one but came up with a winner. Other motels we,d stayed in were cramped and single rooms but here we had space, separate bedroom and patio with great views over kiwi fruit orchards to snow capped alps. The owner gave us directions to join the coastal bikeways for a scenic ride to cap off our mountain...

Stayed here for the one night, The room we were in was very clean and well presented. Good comfortable bed, full kitchen facilities, Stereo/radio, T.V, and DVD player. Could easily stay here for a week or more and feel quite at home.

Good stopping point in Motueka. Private owners residence is a little way away from reception meaning a little wait for them to serve you. Friendly welcome once we got person chatting. Room was huge, nice large kitchen. Large bathroom, however shower doors were quite high off floor causing water from shower to go on floor - had to use towels...

The Avalon has been a favourite of ours for many years whenever holidaying in Motueka. Always clean and tidy, well serviced, handy to town, and with Brett and Jane always very welcoming. A feature is the excellent big and comfortable beds that frankly give us a better sleep than when at home.

We enjoyed a three night stay recently while we visited the area and walked the Abel Tasman Track returning each evening to the comfort of ur motel room. Well designed and operated to a high standard of cleanliness and hospitality, we felt at home and could relax after our time on the trail. It was easy to shop for food...

This motel was spotless, enjoyed a good location a short walk from the main drag, and the folks at the front desk were helpful. The beds were comfortable for the three of us. We had no complaints at all.
