Peace and quiet with great staff. Awesome.
We loved the mature palms by the pool. Spent 3 awesome afternoons there reading and drinking.
Overall the hotel is well served with good food and unlimited drinks.
Friends suggested cayo largo because it was quiet, remote, friendly and has stunning spacious long beaches. We were not disappointed.

The Vila Marinera is a very small resort with cabins that are well appointed. The newer cabins are set back and the older cabins are next to the water. There are two rooms per cabin. There was a bad smell emanating from the drain in...More
Food is awful. Was sick. No bar service between 5 and 7.30 pm. Had to pay to get a drink at the marina. Staff really not friendly. I have been to many places in Cuba and this one is the worst we had so far....More
This place is absolutely horrendous. We signed up for Iberostar, a 4 star hotel but instead were taken here. This place does not even deserve 1 star. It looked so sketchy that from the moment we arrived I was questioning where we were. This place...More
Bill, did you ever end up going? How did you find traveling and staying here with your 15 month old? We have a 6 month old we are thinking of bringing so just wanted to know your experience. Thanks!

Hi Bill,
to be honest, I didn't see any children at the Villa, during my stay, and tend to think that it doesn't really accommodate small children at all unlike its sister hotel, at the other end of 'hotel row'. The dining room is small and the buffet offers less variety than most resorts (I'm trying to think about whether I could keep a small child sated). Although I don't recall seeing any high chairs or booster seats, I would think that there must be something available for toddlers to sit on.
Remember also, that although it's a wonderful location with lots to see, it's also a noisy location with party music that carries on in the wee hours of the night (unless that has changed in my absence).
Good luck.
