Elegant, modern, clean and with a beautiful desing, this hotel made our stay in Levi more than pleasant. The room (can’t remember the type) was spacious, relaxing and the bed simply amazing. Extra appreciation for the Nespresso machine. The lady from the reception was friendly and helpful, giving us accurate information about the things that can be done around and places to dine. Tasty and variated breakfast.

We stayed at deluxe loft room, and it was perfect for family traveling with kids. Usually, we have sofa bed or spare bed in room or two rooms combined, but this was way better for us. Room was spacious and kids enjoyed their time at their own balcony. Still, they were in our sight all the time. They seem to learn from these review or other guests who has written reviews hasn’t find the right breakfast place. They had special breakfast for our room and it had table service for warm dishes. You should really try asparagus with bacon. It was excellent. Kids loved American pancakes with vanilla. Hotel is well located. Easy access to center of the city, slopes and cross-country skiing. Everything that we want to do in Levi. Overall we loved the place and will come back again next time.

We stayed at one of the new large Deluxe Suites and were quite happy with it (with the exception of the very annoying glass door with gaps on the toilet cubicle that offered zero privacy, even for a married couple... not sure which genius came up with that concept). I think you have to suspend belief in Levi with regards to how much these rooms cost, as the prices were commensurate to 5* in central London and overall the quality was closer to 4* in a provincial hotel, but that aside it was a very pleasant stay.

The experience would have been very good if guests had been adherent to rules and regulation to prevent covid. Room was not so big but modern and nice. Bathroom is open on the room through 2 glass doors and it not gives you so much privacy, so think about it if you go with someone you are not so close to… You get free access to all spa area but due to the fact that there were no limitations and many guests were going around without face masks we didn’t try it. I would suggest staff member to impose the use of masks especially at buffet areas…

At the moment the best hotel rooms in the village. Still, some details were missing in my room even others in out group had recieved certain complimentary products. Better quality breakfast with nice personalized concept and friendly service. Too few cooks in the citchen though. All is ready for better than average service and design experience in Levi BUT one thing that really is from a past world is a super anti-customer-friendly principle to keep the spa shut on Sundays. Nothing to do with any resort business thinking in today’s world. Our group just could not help wondering how on earth can the hotel afford such behaviour.

I booked a suite for myself to enjoy the beginning of my short vacation. I wanted to spoil myself with something extra and was waiting for a pampering stay in a fabulous hotel. I have had very charming experiences in small design hotels. Unfortunately Design Hotel Levi didn't meet my expectations. The lobby lacks the feeling of a warm welcome. It is an open space without anything to make it more comfortable or cozy. The receptionist at the frontdesk was very nice, though. My room was in the upper floor. The suite was nice and spacious, only when I entered the room it was freezing. It was 0c temperature outside. Despite that someone had set the room heating/air conditioning to the lowest temperature possible. Well, it was easy to fix since the switches were there to just set the temperature to wanted, so no problem there. But I must say it wasn't that nice to chance to outdoor clothes in that temperature. But otherwise the suite was very nice and the bedroom extra cozy. Bed was large and comfortable. I also enjoyed the bowl of complimentary candy, very nice. The suite had a balcony facing the parking lot. Now seriously! In Lapland? In that case it would be better just without it. Spa was included in the prize of the room. Spa is not for hotel guests only, but open for everyone. It wasn't luckily that crowded, since they had limited access because of Covid19. Pools were nice and it was relaxing to spend time there, but it was a bit stressing to watch your back all the time since some customers didn't much give attention to safe distances. This of course is not the establishments fault. To get to the spa you must take a short walk outside, the spa couldn't be reached from inside the hotel. When you pay the prize of a design hotel, you also expect something special for the breakfast. But the breakfast could have been any medium-prized hotel chain buffet with sliced cheese, ham, salami type sausage and those frozen croissants and bread rolls you can buy from any crocery store around the corner. The breakfast didn't even serve any espresso based coffee drinks, only regular filtered coffee which I unfortunately cannot drink. So no morning coffee for me there. I had to make my own in my hotel room with Nespresso machine. I asked the breakfast room waitress if I could get a latte. The answer was just plain "No." Umm...excuse me? . The breakfast was served in the restaurant of Levi Spa Hotel and the interiors could use some updating. Design hotels make their extraordinary feeling by the combination of unique and stylish interiors, pampering service and the experienced touch in the details that makes the customer to want to come back to same hotel again. Unfortunately I must say Design Hotel Levi does not meet my criteria of a high standard design hotel because of the lack of "that something extra" the customers are looking for when they book accommodation in this type an this prize category.

We stayed in this hotel, the hotel is nice and cozy, the pools were at our disposal, the breakfasts they offered us very good, the rooms were always clean, in general we did not have many inconveniences, they lacked to be a little more attentive to the staff of service.

Beautiful suites, stylish, in fabulous color combinations. The shower in front of the sauna room is a bit non practical but is nicely designed too. The king size bed is super comfortable. The minibar is cooled but empty- weird. Our question for the why was not really answered- early days issues I guess. The staff is friendly but not highly trained- some Swiss hotel management school lessons would not be harmful.

Unbelievable ... if you spend almost 600 EUR per night, you gonna expect something special. You gonna get something special at the Design Hotel Levi, but it is something special bad. 1. Rooms: Those are tiny without any storage for your closes or luggage. That means all your belongings are somewhere in the bags in the rooms. There is no space. The bathroom is somehow integrated into the rooms, separated with glas. The bathroom is tiny as well, including the shower. BTW shower, if you take a shower ... you start flooding the entrance of your room. So please do not store anything there. 2. SPA is separated somewhere else inside a Burger King Restaurant ... WTF! And it is not exclusively for Hotel guest, its open to public. That means its crowded like hell. 3. Sport / Gym, not included. Please pay extra 10 EUR per day. (BTW right next to the Burger King) 4. Breakfast, compared to other Hotels where my wife and I stayed (same price or even cheaper), it was much better. At the Design Hotel Levi you get the basic stuff but nothing special. (And Finland offers so much starting from Reindeer to Vodka with Caviar and other things - take a look at the Lapland Hotel Oulu how amazing a breakfast can be in Finland). 5. Reception / Checkin: Really you arrive in a Hotel you pay that price and there is no warm welcome. Nobody how helps with your luggage? No welcome drink like a hot chocolate when you are coming from the outside with -15C? Nothing ... .... Overall, super disappointing. We left the hotel after 1 day and asked for a refund. It is not worth to stay there. Especially the rooms are disappointing and I assume that could not be changed anymore.

I really really wanted to love this hotel. I booked early in the year and was eagerly following their social media as the building progressed. I was looking forward to having a Finnish Design Hotel experience to come back to after a day in the snow. Unfortunately, it doesn’t live up to its name. They need to remove “design” from the name, as its just a regular hotel, basically a brand new budget hotel with a few interesting design features. If you book with the expectation that it is maybe a 3-star hotel you won’t be disappointed but if you book here expecting a really nice experience similar to other boutique design hotels, you will likely be very disappointed. Now for the details: The Lobby The lobby is shared with the Levi Hotel and Spa, so instead of a quiet boutique hotel lobby, it becomes a crowded and noisy area where packs of people are piling on and off tour buses throughout the day. Service at the front counter is varied, sometimes appalling, sometimes ok. Never design hotel wow or amazing. It was essentially like checking into a motel. Upon check in they give you a basic guest info sheet with some vague information, including the instruction that you need to reserve your time slot for breakfast. So I went down to reception to reserve the time slot, only to be faced with confused looks and told there’s no need to book. The room No cupboards to hang or store clothes, they only provide an open rack with 4 (!) coathangers. Rooms are small (we had the double, I’m sure the suites are much better) Wifi is SO bad. Vey weak signal. The bathroom design is weird. The bathroom door is also the shower door, so if you close the bathroom door there is no door on the shower. And with or without the shower door, the water goes under and floods the bathroom floor, and they don’t provide any bath mats! So we had to use the towels to keep our feet dry, every single day. There is no shelf in the shower, so we had to keep the soap bottle on the floor. I mean, this is basic stuff designers. Bathroom amenities are basic, and the toilet paper they provide is scratchy 2-ply. There is NO PHONE in the room. So you need to walk down to reception if you need anything or have a question. For the price you are paying this seems ridiculous. Its fine in a budget hotel not to have a phone, but in a boutique hotel as they market themselves, come on. There is no information in the room. Nothing. Just the single sheet of paper they provide at reception. They provide tea bags, coffee pods and sugar, and yet no spoons... There is no kettle in the room. There is a Nespresso which apparently can be used to get hot water, but they don’t provide instructions on how to use it. Its almost as if the people who set up these rooms haven’t stayed in a hotel before. There is no room service option. The only option is to walk down to reception a buy a bag of peanuts from the reception “bar”, which is just the end of the reception desk. The only rubbish bin in the room is a tiny little thing in the bathroom, probably a quarter the size of regular bins in most hotel rooms. They need to provide another bin in the room. Cleaning was sporadic. Some days we were out from 10-5 and the cleaners didn’t come as I guess we missed the cleaning window. Breakfast Walking through to breakfast you walk past a big buffet only to be escorted into another smaller room with a different (much) smaller buffet. The breakfast is nice enough (small buffet and a small a la carte options) but there are definitely way more food options in the other buffet for the other hotel guests. So the kids had to be told that sorry, that nice stuff you saw as we are walking past, you can’t have that. The Design Hotel breakfast room is supposed to be a more private exclusive area, but this seems a strange design to have design hotel guests walk through a buffet intended for guests form the other hotel. Then once you are inside, you are just separated from the other hotel’s buffet by a curtain, its weird. I don’t know what the designers were thinking with this whole concept, but its terrible. There were no labels on most of the food at breakfast. Over the days we were there some labels appeared, but most of it was not labelled which is just not on. You need to inform guests what the food is The buffet table is very cramped, so the way they laid it out meant the end of the serving fork would possibly be lying across the food on the plate next to it. Not hygienic, there needs to be space between the serving plates so this doesn’t happen. Positives: A few of the staff were great, and were really trying to do their best to make it a nicer experience for the guests. Toni the waiter was lovely The tall girl at reception with long hair (sorry I didn’t catch her name, but she was very apologetic and helpful) One of the cleaning ladies who gave us some extra supplies when we met her in the hallway. She was super friendly and helpful. Summary - Disappointingly, upon check-out the staff didn’t take any opportunity to get feedback, or to even ask how the stay was. There were no feedback forms in the rooms also, which would have been a great idea if the management want to find out and fix teething issues fast rather than waiting for poor reviews here. I do recognise it is a brand new hotel and that teething problems are expected, so I believe some of the above can be easily rectified. But this place is incorrectly branded and does not deliver what it promises. I really hope the owners think about not only the name, but the way they market this place (and the price). Its not a separate hotel, its not a boutique design hotel, its basically more rooms added to the Levi Spa hotel and should be marketed as such. I would not stay here again.
