Islanda Hideaway Resort, located on the west end of “Koh Klang”translated to the center island in Thai sitting peacefully at the estuary of Krabi River, is a perfect must-stay for ones seeking a serene escape with continuous fresh ozonic see breezes and a daily perfect panoramic view of sunset over the edge of the Andaman Sea when Mother Nature paints orange and purple on the sky. Traveling to this beautiful spot is quite convenient and very impressive as its transportation is uniquely done via locally made vehicles which are long-tailed boat and modified motorcycle. The resort houses a limited number of seafront tropical style bungalows built on stilts in local fisherman expression allowing comfortable ventilation throughout the day. Each of its bungalows featuring a bedroom in the front facing west and a separate unit of air-conditioned living room and bathroom in the back is amazingly full equipped with 5-star amenities. A wake-up scene of fishermen collecting sea clams on the beach in the morning is a good refreshing photo of the the day. While its sea-view open-air all-day dining restaurant serves international dishes mostly cooked from local produce and catches, its “Village Bar” with semi open-air and alfresco seating is a perfect chill-out station from dusk till dark. Another highlight of the resort is its seafront pool where ones can have their own unparalleled photos of matching colorful sunset lights reflecting on pool water and the sea.…
One hand nice eco lodge , on the other hand bungalows are settled on the sand but no beach available .... You have to wait the high tide back at the end of the morning . There is no private beach only bamboos all around the resort to keep the sand. So when you book bungalows on the sand you think to have the opportunity to have a beach just beside.
This hotel is an excellent choice for disconnection and relax. For WiFi signal you have to go to reception, but this is what disconnection is about, right? As I read in another review, prizes are above average. Because beach is facing west, be prepared for stunning sunsets. However, beach is not suitable for bath, I think it's because it lack of deep. Staff is very nice and helpful. Consider this place if your goal is disconnection and relax
Due to no passing trade and little options this place which is reasonably priced offers everything at a premium. But having said that its a great island with some nice bike rides and few bits to see, welcoming small population. Great way to finish a tour of the region. But expect to pay for it. Gyms ok Pool fantastic Views fantastic Rooms great size bit dated but comfy Staff friendly Free pushbikes Free kayaks Free DVD rental Massage, food, booze overpriced. But all ok.
Stayed at the hotel after recommendation for four nights , homey place and away from cowded city. A place for the sunset view. The pool is very nice especially with the cocktails! We definitely come back next year :))
Lovely hotel - rooms are spacious, staff are friendly and the pool is fantastic and the location is remote. That is a positive and also a negative. I had not appreciated how remote when booking it. I arranged to be picked up at the airport. We were taken to a marina which was deserted and then taken by long boat to to a pier and then a tuk tuk to the hotel. When we arrived, the tide was out - far out. So I had reservations - in fact my Mum immediately asked if we could go elsewhere! We didn't, which I am glad about as it was very restful break. We were there over Christmas and there were only a handful of people there. The hotel was not busy which I liked - not so good for the hotel. The downside of it being remote is that you are dependent on the hotel for food and drink, both of which are overpriced and whilst delicious, we had better food from the hawker market at Krabi. There is literally nothing nearby - no shops or restaurants which you can walk to. To get to Krabi, you need to once again take a tuk tuk (200 bht during the day and 300 bht at night) and take a long boat to Krabi (50 bht per person). If you want to arrange own transport to the hotel, take a longboat from Thara Pier in Krabi Town and a tuk tuk to the hotel. It is the only hotel there so all drivers know about it. Would I recommend this hotel? Yes, if you want a complete break from everything. But be prepared to pay too much for relatively ok food and drink (although water is free!). Also it is not possible to go in the sea - whilst the hotel is on a beach, the tide is either in next to the hotel or far out!…
This place is the best!! It’s quiet and off the beaten path. We stayed here for a few nights could have stayed a lot longer. The amenities are great. The little bungalows are fun. They are colorful and have everything you need. The pool is amazing!! The food was fresh and everyone was always helpful. The only downside is your on an island away from everything so if you didn’t bring it and the hotel doesn’t have it it could be a bit of a journey back to krabi town to get it. Other than that it’s a great place to get away from it all. It truly is a hideaway. Thanks to Mr Big and all the staff you really made out stay wonderful.
We accidentally booked this place for 12 nights instead of 5...... don’t ask. I tried many times to change this before we went however the management were very rigid and unwilling to do it even with a suggested 50% loss. I was absolutely gutted as it was out honeymoon. What was really disappointing was that we had advised them of this and whilst we were put in a standard hut, several huts on the beach honeymooner suites sat free whilst we were there with no offer of upgrade, even knowing how disappointed we had been at not being able to cancel some days. The food and drinks were very expensive but I thought okay and did enjoy it. The only beers bought were in happy hour which was at a very odd time 2-4. Probably so people won’t use it........ The pool was great, however there were not enough sun beds and considering there is nothing else to do here, this was a problem. Our neighbours went down with severe food poisoning which I believe was from the rice in the hotel...... they were violently ill and had to go to hospital.... which is not an easy journey on the best of times. We left after 6 days and cut our losses and lost a significant amount of money, which we could not really afford after just getting married. It was either that or let it ruin our honeymoon completely. I wouldn’t go back here due to the inflexible management and complete lack of customer service. Interesting the next hotel we went to placed rose petals on the bed, we had a complimentary glass of bubbly and were absolutely fantastic. Half the price too. It’s amazing what impact customer service can have when it’s done right! …
We stayed for 3 nights in August 2019 and as it is a raining season in Thailand the hotel was empty but we liked the tranquality and the silence especially in the inifinty pool by the ocean...our room was a family room with the name Turtle and it was clean and nice..Mr.Big helped us for a special dinner organisation thanks for him and his staff for their kindness and help..Not suitable hotel for a families with children..only lovers who wants to be isolated from the world should come :)
After 3 weeks of traveling through Thailand, visiting the jungle, caves, mountains and many temple Islanda Hide Away is a real treat. Very warm welcome and fantastic rooms to stay. The best swimming pool we ever had ( and have seen a couple, W Singapore, One 15 Singapore, Fairmont Dubai etc.). For more then 2 days we did not leave the resort and enjoyed the place to the Max. Mr Big and his team did a great job looking after us. Not easy to reach and a small adventure on its own but definitely worth it.
