My partner and I had a country night stay voucher given to us. We booked this as we like the peak District. After booking 2 days off work and organising for my 22 month old son to stay at my mother's we drove to hilltop farm. When we arrived a woman shouted over to the car 'can i help you'...

Large comfortable and clean room, no tv in room. Didn't realise there was a guest lounge with tv and wood burner until we were checking out! Lovely breakfast. Beautiful location. Lovely relaxing break.

The setting is just wonderful. Mine hostess a delight. The breakfast cooked to order and served in the old kitchen. The bedroom really large, a massive bed with a little creak from the mattress as we climbed aboard. Just what you imagined at a working farm. The decor and furnishing all in keeping with this delightful establishment. Thoroughly enjoyed our...

Lovely fresh scones but BEWARE - no prices displayed, and cream tea was £6.50 per person. Considering the location, we felt this was a rather dishonest rip-off. Old farmyard, long wait, rickety furniture, ordinary teabag tea and no prices displayed usually means good value but not so here!

I have to agree this is a tough one to review. The location is stunning and very peaceful; it is a proper working farm just over half a mile from the lovely and very popular village of Hartington reached by a very pleasant stroll down a quiet lane. Jane is an excellent hostess and the farmhouse is quirky with period...

We got this as a gift, when we turned up we were confronted by a REAL working farm, not a fabricated new world impression of a farm. The smell of burning wood and coal eminated from the fire in the lounge. If I am honest we did have to knock the door a couple of times to gain entry (but...

All of the reviews are correct. This is both the best and least best place I have ever stayed - if that is possible! It is old, it is damp, it is cold (in parts, at times) and the shower was less than inspiring. There was damp on the walls and mould on the windows. However - this is a...

We arrived after walking in the pouring rain to find nobody in. We spent about 45 minutes looking round the farm and calling out (plus chilling with the animals for a bit) before we managed to find Jane. She was very friend and accommodating and showed us to our room which was spacious and had a great view and a...

On the edge of a charming village this is a working farm with about 800 sheep and 100 cows. The farmhouse is a nineteenth century building and is furnished and decorated accordingly making it a fascinating place to stay.Lovely countryside all around and walks galore in this wonderful county. We really enjoyed our stay and the farmers wife is very friendly and...
