If you want wifi, mobile signal, intrusive owners this is not for you. If you want remote, with some of the most wonderful walks in England just yards away, this is the place to stay. Owners left the key in the door and us to our weekend. Highly recommend Gary

We stayed in Wolfscote Cottage at the end of November and I was a bit apprehensive due to many of the negative reviews however, I needn’t have worried. The cottage has such charm and character and was wonderfully warm and cosy when we entered. Jane the proprietor came over to greet us when we arrived and let us know that...

Thank goodness I didn't get put off by some of the negative reviews before booking our holiday in Tomboys cottage! We had a wonderful few days staying in the lovely warm, comfortable well-equipped cottage. Being able to do beautiful walks from the front door was such a bonus, and I loved being 'off the beaten track'. Hartington is a lovely...

What a wonderful place to come for our Wedding Anniversary in October. The property was lovely and warm - two bedrooms and bathroom on the ground floor - open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area upstairs. Wolfscote is one of three cottages which have been developed out of a stone farm building adjoining the farm. From the dining table there...

Just back from a week in Swallows Return - a three bed, two bath haven above Wolfscote Dale. Well equipped cottage, warm and welcoming after a long day walking straight from the front door. The views across Derbyshire and into the gorge are spectacular. The owls hoot early evening and early morning. We saw heron, dippers, grey wagtails, a kingfisher...

Spent a fantastic week here with a couple of friends, at the end of September. Cottage was warm, comfortable, especially the beds, and spotless. Everything provided in the kitchen and bathrooms. Lovely walks listed in the cottage literature and another described by the owners. Driving up the lane a bit scary, but the views from the cottage made it all...

We booked this cottage for a family holiday. I arrived ahead of the rest of my family and the first thing that struck me was that the rooms were a whole lot smaller in reality than they appear in the photographs. It was relatively clean and neat but as I waited for the family I decided to read the literature...

Red Lion House is very conveniently positioned for all the village amenities and it is a very charming village at that. I have to say though, all the convenience stores were on the pricey side even for simple basics like milk. Like others have mentioned, we didn't see the owners once, not even a pop down to see that everything...

Hello, Firstly I am sorry to read your review, however I do have to mention that one review from one party would be more than sufficient. It is very upsetting to us at Wolfscote Grange that you didn't enjoy your stay with us to the full potential, and we do feel it is a shame that non of these issues...

We booked this lovely little 2 bed cottage which sits right in the centre of Hartington as a last minute break for 5 nights. There's everything you need in this cosy cottage. It suited the 4 of us with its double and twin room. The boys managed without any wifi as it made them get out exploring into the countryside....

Good Evening, Thank you for your lovely review, and we are glad that you had a lovely time in both the cottage and the village of Hartington! We would love to see you again soon! Kind regards, Jane Gibbs P.s. We find the lack of WIFI a godsend too!

Stayed in Graces Cottage which is in the village. It was comfortably furnished and very clean. The village itself is beautiful, we also went for a meal in one of the pubs and breakfast at the farm shop. It's not easy getting food for myself and my daughter as we are both allergic to wheat and dairy products but the...

Hello Helen, Thank you for your lovely review, it means a lot to us here at Wolfscote Grange! I am glad you found both the farm shop and the pub brilliant and I will pass on your lovely comments to them. If you ever come back to the village to explore the peak district further, you know where we are....
