On arrival the room looked clean and bright, our lunch was really good, however evening meal was not. My medium rare steak was burnt and my chips tasted like they were yesterday's leftovers reheated. The mattress in our room had a lump in centre and was lopsided, so very uncomfortable my husband lifted to see what was happening and the...

We received a warm welcome on arrival and shown to a very pleasant double room in the old smithy annex. The hotel is very well located for walkers and other outdoor pursuits and not far from several National Trust sites.

We stayed here on a buy-a- gift voucher and paid extra for a superior room. The staff were all very friendly and the room was large and clean with a large enquire bathroom with a free standing type bath and separate walk in shower. We ate at the pub for our breakfasts and evening meals on both evenings as the...

We stayed in the room with our two boys. Plenty of space for a travel cot. Cooked breakfast made to order and served no buffet style. Very friendly staff and nice pub. Great sleep. Really enjoyed it here.

Lovely location, helpful staff, good food, rooms were nicely decorated, although the walls were slightly thin & we could hear next door & below but not at unreasonable hours. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

Good clean room with excellent food and wonderful, friendly staff. A great bar too! Location suits walking and running the local paths and a quiet night's sleep. I left something in the room and they happily sent it back to me. Excellent communication before, during and after stay.

Gorgeous hotel in a lovely remote area but building noise from room next door from 9am till 5pm for the duration of our stay. I'm understanding so I didn't complain. Lovely breakfast. A little overpriced evening meal. The staff were very friendly. Lovely, comfortable rooms. Would return in the future!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Manifold Inn is a delightful 200 year old coaching inn and restaurant that offers warm hospitality and quality home cooked food for visitors to the beautiful White Peak. The mellow stone inn is positioned within its own grounds nestling on the banks of the Manifold River, opposite The Old Toll House which used to serve the turnpike and river ford. This beautiful listed building is positioned close to a number of popular walking and cycling routes, including the Manifold Trail, set amongst the famous Staffordshire Moorlands and Derbyshire Dales which offer some of England's most natural and unspoilt scenery. The Manifold Inn is the perfect place to use as a base for exploring the surrounding natural countryside of the White Peak area or to visit the local Market towns of Bakewell & Ashbourne or Spa towns of Buxton & Matlock and their surrounding attractions. Open all year round and all days most of the year we offer our guests a range of Ales, Larger, Cider, Wines and Soft Drinks. We serve a traditional English Breakfast to guests and in the Summer to Campers. A Lunch Menu is available and during the Summer a Snack Menu if you are just looking for a quick bite to eat. A full Dinner Menu and Wine List is available to be served in our Bar, Conservatory, Snug or Restaurant. We can cater for Dinner Party groups for around 40 guests. We offer 10 en-suite hotel rooms and a 2 bedroom holiday cottage to guests. We often have bookings from large family groups attending a birthday and wedding or walking and cycling groups who want to get to together and enjoy a weekend in the beautiful local area around the River Manifold. ... more   less
