Gougane Barra Hotel was our first accommodations on our Wild Irish Rover Tour with Vagabond Tours. It is a beautiful and tranquil location on a lake with surrounding hills and hiking/biking trails. The morning and evening strolls around the property provided a great backdrop for some awesome photos of our adventure. The Hotel is a family run business with Neil...

Enjoyed lunch before checking in to our room. Camile at reception was so pleasant and very helpful. We were late getting back to the hotel after touring for the afternoon and dinner had finished, but Camile organised sandwiches for us which were very much appreciated. Breakfast was also delicious, if a little slow, but the view outside means there is...

We didn't stay here as it's not far from home. We stopped by on Sunday without a booking for lunch. We got a table for two near the door, as all the window tables were booked. We ordered from the €22 for 2 courses menu. My husband had the cod in prawn and prosecco cream sauce, I had the steak...

We were able to stay just one night so only had one dinner and one breakfast at the property, which was a shame as the food was excellent, probably the best dinner we had during our two weeks in Ireland. The hotel itself was comfortable, a little dated and plain, but the rooms were clean and quiet, and the service...

The setting for this hotel is unbelievably beautiful. There is an ancient church and cemetery. There is a lovely walk nearby. The room was small, but charming and had all amenities. The food in the restaurant was amazing and delicious. The breakfast oatmeal had happy faces drawn in apple sauce or chocolate chips which shows the care and attention to...

Stayed here with a small group tour in October for a night. We would have loved to have stayed longer. Located in a place where one might find his soul, along a mountain lake and beautiful little church. The owner has been told he resembles 'Basil Fawlty' so often he has 'Fawlty Towers' looped on one of the t.v. channels....
