Olos is a very small place in Lapland and the hotel is the best one you can book yourself here. The restaurant serves good food and the atmosphere is very unique. I like to stay here and enjoy nature. Grab a drink in a lobby before the dinner and enjoy the views! Rooms are basic but after all, you are in the wild nature! I like the Lapland hotel chain and they have other hotels in different cities in Finland.

We visited the restaurant in Oslo as part of our excursion. My daughter has severe allergies and the hotel could not do enough for us to make sure she was safe and fed. Eating out can be a stressful experience but it we felt completely ease here. Highly recommend this hotel

We didn't actually stay in the hotel, but in the log cabins up the hill. But we spent a lot of time in the Lapland Olos Hotel and one of our group, Cathy, was known to some of the staff as she had worked in the area a few years ago. Anyone that we encountered from the hotel was exceptionally friendly and certainly made the rest of us feel so welcome. We loved relaxing in the hotel, kicking off our snowy boots and having a drink on the comfortable couches. We ate in the dining room one night, and on another night, we had a fabulous buffet in the adjoining restaurant. We were also there for breakfast another day (best porridge in the world!) We had a fantastic time in the area - we did a husky safari, we drove some snowmobiles & generally had a great time. It's been a fantastic memory and we are all now back in Cork, after an 18 hour journey, but it's been so worth it and huge thanks to the people of Olos for making our holiday so fantastic.

We were placed here when our flight was cancelled due to snow! Absolutely blown away! Rooms were stunning, spacious & clean. Staff were so welcoming when we arrived at 1am, provided us with hot drinks. This hotel is definitely somewhere we would return to. Breakfast was lovely with a good selection of options.

This is a great and well-conceived resort in the Arctic Circle with a host of activities. On New Year's Eve we were treated to a spectacular display of orora borealis which was a treat and strangely moving to see this natural phenomenon. The maître d'hôtel is Kimmo Honkala ...What a man! He made us feel so welcome and looked after every special food requirement with unlimited patience and good humour. The variety of salads and main courses were excellent. The bedrooms luxurious and we cannot recommend this destination too highly. I asked reception for needle and thread to sew a button on more securely...not only did they supply these but they even threaded the needle for me! That shows their attention to looking after their client's every need! Here is Kimmo on the right of the photo, me on the left.

We booked the 3 night Santa's Tinsel Trail departing Manchester on Weds 16th December with Cosmos/Monarch. I am so glad I picked this hotel over the other one available in Levi. This is situated about an hour away from Kitilla airport right up in the Arctic Circle and in a wooded hillside. Covered extensively with beautiful crisp deep white snow. Postcard picture perfect! The room we had was very well equipped. Lots of space, the most amazing views, comfy beds very much needed after very active days. A large sauna, jacuzzi bath, separate shower cubicle, heated flooring which was wonderful to step onto coming out of the shower. The food was plentiful and tasty, the staff were friendly and my son especially loved Heidi. The trips were well organised, plenty of toboggans to sledge about in on the site and even a cinema and swimming pool on site. Although we didn't get time to make use of these for our short trip. This location feels like it is a million miles away from everything so if you don't like that concept you are better off staying in Levi but believe me you'll miss a real gem if you do.. The lack of light pollution means you are more likely to see the Northern Lights if the conditions are right, and we were lucky enough to see them one night. A more perfect break I could not imagine. The best bit... well finding Santa of course, his little village hidden away in the woodlands with all his elves... tears of joy were shed a plenty, I still believe!!!!
Oh and a big THANK YOU to Reindeer Rachel who made it all so wonderful, her enthusiasm and seemingly never ending energy was to be admired. All three Cosmos reps (Reindeer Rachel, Mince Pie Mel and Snowflake Sian) were fantastic!

All I can say is Amazing. We went on a family holiday with Cosmos/Monarch on a "search for Santa" 4 day break. From the flight out, the Cosmos staff and the hotel nothing could be bettered.
The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings with sledges to pull the children around and generally enjoy the use of. We stayed in their log cabins which had everything you could want for and more. We used the restaurant connected with Cosmos and all meals are in a buffet style, food was lovely and the restaurant staff could not have been more helpful.
Our main contact was with "Reindeer Rachel" and I have to say she played a big part in making the holiday. Along with "mince pie Mel" and "Snowflake Sian" they worked tirelessly to make sure the children had a magical time. Can not commend them highly enough.
On arrival you are given snow suits and boots which are really good. Just make sure you take thermals, hats and gloves. We did take some of our own ski stuff which we did find useful but is not necessary.
The planned outings are brilliant and well organised-the look on the children's faces is a real picture.
To sum up, absolutely brilliant.

We spent 3 nights four days at Olos on the tinsel trail. We booked a log cabin which was a lot more expensive than he hotel room but it was so worth it. The cabin was huge with three sleeping areas, lounge and kitchenette, the open fire was amazing with a endless supply of logs. The resort itself is very quiet but you are kept busy all day with activities. Reindeer sleigh rides husky rides and snowmobiles are included in the price of the trip , it's enough because you can't really stay out to long in the cold so don't book ridiculously expensive extra rides!! Our children mention our trip to see mr C almost every day, it is worth every penny. Tip.. Take a couple of wine boxes in your suitcase so you can have a few drinks before you dine in the evening, its approx £30-35 for a bottle of house wine in restaurant.

Quiet, picture postcard setting, booked on a Santa trail trip, would recommend, well worth the money. Food would rate good rather than excellent. Lovely staff and rooms in Suite section fab. Pool was chilly!

We have just returned from a 3-day trip in search of Santa, booked through Canterbury Tales travel agents. We arrived on Sunday evening to a log cabin/bungalow around 200 meters uphill of the main hotel complex. The hotel comprises 2 detached restuarants, a ski slope and a reception/winter clothing depot. There are tobaggons stored in external boxes, which the kids (and me!!) used to sled around the snow laden complex and even have a sled down the ski slope in the evening. The log cabins were roasting and had central heating, real log fires and a sauna. All clothing for the trip was loaned free as part of the package and proved very cosy on the 2 day hunt for Santa in the woods and over the frozen lakes. There was plenty of huskies, reindeer, skidoo and sleging to be had before we finally found Santa. It was magical and the snow was so deep it was like going to Narnia!! Our family (mum, dad and 2 girls aged 4 and 7) loved the experience. There were 4 lessons to be passed on. 1. We brought lots of ski type clothes which were provided free on site so we wasted a few quid.2. Its dark all day except for grey light (twilight) between 10am and 2pm. 3. You have to get up early to find Santa (5.30 am for a 6am breakfast and a 6.30 am bus (however they are 2 hours ahead so its really a 3.30 am start!! 4. Cheap hotel wine is €40 per bottle, so wrap up a bottle to keep it warm and bring a corkscrew. Temp was -3 to -10 celcius but they really wrap you up warm. All in all it was a magical experience which we will remember and cherish forever.

We did a New Years holiday 2018 and the Aurora was spectacular. Remember that it's a natural phenomenon and never guaranteed but the display here was much better than in Iceland where we've been twice to see it. You are in the Arctic circle in Lapland so much more likely than not. Take the skidoo safari while you are there, amazing views and great fun. Hotel Olos is fantastic too. If you like a tipple on holiday there, I'd advise buying duty free at the airport you are flying from as alcohol is VERY expensive in Lapland.

In Muonio Village you can find shops where you can get wine, spirits and snacks and other food. Its about 10 km from the hotel, takes about ten minits to get there by car. There is fridge in the room where you can keep them.

Well there is a small convenience shop near the restaurant. It sells small amenities and everything things e.g. postcards, stamps, cigarettes, deodorant, sodas, candy etc. There is a nearby bar and restaurant about a 5 min walk outside the hotel grounds. The prices are kind of expensive there for beer. e.g. €8.00 for a beer- it's like buying a beer from a US Stadium while attending a football game.

Hi there, to be honest you don't get too much free time in the trip. It is well organised and the itinerary is busy. There are a couple of periods of free time where you can go on the additional excursions if you choose to. Totally recommend the husky sleigh ride it was amazing. Our 6 year old was just happy playing on the ski slope with a toboggan and made plenty of friends that way. You also get to know the people on your coach too. Meal times you bump into each other and you really don't spend that much time in the room tbh. Do allow extra time for getting all the cold weather gear on and always take an extra pair of socks and gloves in case their hands and feet get too cold. The Cosmos crew we had were good at advising how many pairs if socks you'd need on the next day. It was the most amazing trip so just go with the flow and enjoy every minute. Memories for a lifetime :)
