Firstly I would say this hotel is definitely not a 5* and should be lower. We went here for our honeymoon the last week of October, which was half term week. What no one informed us though is that this week is the last week before the hotel shuts for winter which is why I’ve got some bad things to say about this hotel. When we arrived we were given room number 330 which seem fine at first but when we came to have a shower we realised the shower floor was all broken/lifting and was sharp on your feet. We complained to reception and was offered a free upgrade to a pool swim up room 121, which we thought was really good until realised actually how cold the pools are, absolutely freezing!! My wife didn’t even go in but I managed twice in a week. There was no issues in getting sun beds due to the hotel being very quiet and not a lot of guests there so it was very quiet but the beach/pool towels are very tired and in need of replacing. There was hardly any service for drinks on the sunbeds you had to shout a waiter over or had to go fetch your drinks yourself. The restaurant food was very basic, meat & fish but was always cold! So my wife found it hard to eat much due to her being a vegetarian So we tried the pool bar restaurant one dinner which is cooked to order and she could have a pizza there which she said was ok, so we went back the next day so she could have this again but to be told they’ve stopped pizza due to them shutting soon for winter! Mine this was 3 days in to our 7 day holiday! Also something similar with the drinks happen too, when we first got there she could have Pepsi max at the bars, but same thing happened yet again 3 days in they’ve ran out!! And due to closing won’t be getting anymore in. So now no food she enjoys and no drink either and we’ve still got 4days left to go. We had to go to the local shops to buy some Pepsi max and bring this back to an all inclusive hotel which you shouldn’t have to do. We asked what other sugar free drinks they had but the only thing they could offer now was some cans of green cola which wasn’t nice at all. They had no other sugar free drinks!! Very poor for a 5* hotel. The entertainment wasn’t great either similar thing due to closing there wasn’t a lot going on. Ended up with just a dj on stage most nights playing tunes from a laptop not what you’d called entertainment! I would say this hotel is easy a 4* if not a 3* especially for the week we visited. It’s a real shame cause it seems like a nice hotel, but I think standards had slipped alot due to them closing and they ran out of a lot of things. We did have some lovely weather which was good and it made the holiday and all the staff seem happy and friendly. I would say definitely don’t visit this hotel on the last week of October like we did, I wish someone would have warned us like I’m Warning you hopefully! We would not return to this hotel now sorry! Definitely not a 5*. …
I will start this review by saying this was probably the best holiday we’ve ever had. I don’t really know where to begin because all the good things I want to say are just bursting to come out! Firstly, you will know by now (if you’ve read lots of the previous reviews) that this hotel is amazing and there’s many reasons for that: The location: it is close to the airport! And it was fairly straightforward coming out of the airport to the find our bus transfer. We thought we were going to be the last one to be dropped off but actually, we were the first one so that was truly a pleasant surprise! The hotel is also close to a little town called Tsilivi. It’s literally a 2 min walk from the hotel and it is buzzin’ with bars, restaurants, shops etc. it’s really lively and also nice for a walk The hotel: The overall look of this hotel is incredible! It is located by a really nice beach with clear turquoise waters and there’s also plenty of pools for everyone! Including an indoor pool! This hotel is literally chill vibes for adults. If you want to fully relax, this hotel is for you. If you’re looking for loud music and party scenes by the pool, look elsewhere. Check in was super easy. We arrived just after 9pm, the fresh towels and refreshing drink was a nice touch especially after travelling for hours! After filling in the necessary forms, we were asked if we wanted to go to our rooms or go to dinner as it was going to be finishing soon. We went straight to dinner as we were hungry then went to our room afterwards to find our suitcases already there :) also, thank you for the lovely bubbly and red wine guys! Food: Is really good here! The buffet has loads of variety and I don’t think we’ve been to a buffet where the food is really of very high standards. My husband loved the meat varieties. He’s a fussy eater but even he found lots of stuff he liked and tried new things too! They had certain themes each night for dinner, we loved the Greek night the most! Breakfast is also very good! I don’t know the guy’s name who makes the omelette (we just called him Mr Man) but he makes yummy omelettes. The guy who is in charge of fried eggs and poached eggs etc- he’s also very nice and friendly and greeted us every time he saw us! Also do yourself a favour and try Freddo cappuccino with caramel! Lunch is also very good, lots of varieties again! We went to the beach bar a lot for lunch! Delicious food! My husband’s fave was the spaghetti Bolognese and the Zante Maris special pizza and I really enjoyed the pork souvlaki! Also, we loved the beach barbecue that happened once a week!! You also get 1 visit per stay to the Al la carte restaurant called The Culinarium. We decided to book on our anniversary day. Oh my oh my… the food was INCREDIBLE! I was really worried that my husband won’t enjoy it because he’s a fussy eater but I was so surprised because he had a truly enjoyable meal!!! Room: We had a swim-up double room with inland view and terrace. My husband and I loved our room and our swim up pool. After breakfast, we spent our mornings in our swim up pool because it would get lots of sun then in the afternoon either go to the beach or by the pools! Sun loungers by the pools are more popular I would say than the beach. We always found a sun lounger on the beach and we would normally go after 1 or 2pm and we went at peak season! Activities: We took part in a few activities ran by the hotel from entertainment to exercises. We did meditation, stretch and relax, Pilates, functional work out but my favourite was the Casino Night maybe because I won hahaha! But also it was a fun and memorable night! They have quite a few activities going on, you will need to book via the TUI app but it’s easy peasy! Excursion: We did the sunset cruise (booked via nefis in town) and the St Denis festival in Zakynthos booked with the TUI reps in the hotel. We were lucky enough to be in Zakynthos during the celebration of St Dionysios! Loved seeing Zante at night and seeing the procession and loved watching the fireworks from the boat! We are almost done, sorry for the long review but I have saved the best for last. The staff. My husband and I stayed in the hotel for 2 weeks and it felt like home for 2 weeks. The staff here are super super nice, they will smile, wave and say hi to you when you pass by them. They will check on you to make sure you are having a nice time. They are hardworking and provide service with a smile. I hope the big boss man is proud of the people he’s hired here because they don’t just do their jobs, they do their jobs very very well. There’s lots of people we’d like to thank especially during our stay: Achilleas- you will see him mostly on the beach taking and delivering drink orders. Such a hardworking lad and he’s even remembered what we like to get without asking us. He walks up and down the beach in the baking heat checking that people have drinks. Egris - he is in charge of pool and beach towels! He is ever so friendly and nice and one time, he ran out of clean towels so he couldn’t give us any. We were happy to go back and get it ourselves but when fresh towels came, he went looking for us on the beach to give them to us. We love stopping by to chat to him! Maria K: she served us at the beach/ snack bar. She was always so smiley and friendly and so nice to us. She also explained to us the starters we were having for our Culinarium dinner and we thought she did a great job! Angela: She also worked at the beach/ snack bar/ The Culinarium. She was very welcoming when we came for our dinner at The Culinarium and also explained what the evening entailed. She’s also really really nice and super friendly and said hi and smiled to us every time we saw her! Kostas-You will find him at the snack bar/ Culinarium. He was brilliant at explaining to us the food that we had at The Culinarium. Great knowledge and so professional! Thank you for passing by the lobby bar to say goodbye when we were leaving. Gerald- your main man for the best freddo cappuccino coffee!! He works at the swim up bar and they do get busy there but he will make sure to serve you drinks with a great smile! Maria- she works at the spa but she sometimes goes round the pool area or the beach giving complimentary massages. My husband and I really enjoyed the complimentary massage, she’s a lovely lovely lady and she’s very good with her massages! Aris and Elsa works at the buffet restaurant. Elsa is so nice, she’s so smiley and she will make sure that you have everything you need. Aris is so professional and will ensure you are attended to. Thanasis- king of the pina colada! You will find him mostly taking and serving drinks in the evenings at The entertainment area! So friendly and always served our drinks with a smile. Rovena- she cleaned our room everyday and she is so hardworking and she’s so good at making our room clean and tidy. She is ever so polite and always respectful. Aida- she was in charge of our mini bar and made sure we always had water in our room. She is ever so nice and she would always check with us if we’re ok/ we need anything else if our room. Makkis- you will find also find him walking up and down the beach taking drink orders and serving them. Such a hardworking young man! He would always wave and say hi to us every time we saw him! Joanna- We mainly saw her in the evenings at the entertainment area. smiliest person there and always gave us a smile and wave when we passed by her! Tony, Evie and Hayden- they are the TUI reps in the Lobby. They are so nice and so friendly and just generally awesome and are so knowledgeable of the area and the excursions. Sorry for asking so many questions and visiting the table so many times guys and thank you Hayden for answering all of my one million questions ahaha! Tony, thank you for letting us follow you around during the St Dionysios festival- we would be lost without you- literally 😂. Evie- thank you for waving us off when we left- although it was a bit sad 😢 Cherith- she runs the fitness classes at the hotel. She’s so lovely and very good at her job. My husband and I really enjoyed all the classes that we attended with her. She would sometimes change things up to make things a bit more challenging which really worked for us. We especially enjoyed bumping into her and stopping for a chat :) Bill- works at reception and was very professional and very good at explaining everything to us when we arrived. Thank you for waving us off when we left and thank you for being so nice and welcoming every time we entered the hotel. Theo- You will see Theo everywhere. Because he’s always checking in on guests to make sure they’re happy and being attended to. Theo is such a nice man, he would always ask us how we are, if we are having a ice day, just generally making sure we are happy. He loves a fist bump so we made sure we gave him one every time we saw him. He is so approachable and happy to chat to guests whenever. We loved our chats with, he’s got great personality 😊 The staff in TUI Blue Zante Maris are all fantastic. We just really want to say a massive thank you to everyone there for making us feel at home for 2 weeks. Never been on holiday where we got friendly with lots of the staff and it was all a bit emotional leaving. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting some chill, relaxing time by the sea. Great location, fantastic food and awesome people!…
Just got back from a week here, had a lovely time but I wouldn’t call this hotel 5 star! We stayed in a room with the swim up pool which was nice not having to go and reserve a sun Lounger every day but other than that the room didn’t have anything more to give. So for £400 extra was it worth it… We ate out most nights as the food in the hotel wasn’t great! All the same food each day/night. Very bland! Even the À la carte restaurant I wouldn’t recomend. (Some lovely restaurants a short walk from the hotel) . We did get room service on a lunch and that seemed the best food there, the drinks were all good and a huge selection of cocktails. Staff were all great, taking drinks orders all day by the pool and beach. Pool area was lovely and plenty of sun loungers on the beach also. I would give this hotel a 4 star no way a 5. …
This is by far the best hotel I’ve ever been to. We were upgraded to a swim up room when we arrived, our room had a bottle of wine and some champagne. The food here is excellent, staff are lovely and very attentive. I had a massage in the spa by a lady named GIOTA, it was seriously the best massage I’ve ever had, she was very generous and talented. The hotel was not very busy because we came at the end of the season, I would recommend visiting in October. The weather was still fabulous at this time of year. We will be visiting again, there’s no doubt about it. Thankyou from us to everyone at the Zante Maris hotel.
What a fabulous hotel - Check in was quick and efficient no queuing we sat with a welcome drink and towel whilst we filled in a form. The room was huge we had a swim up room with a huge comfy bed and pillows. Bathroom was lovely with a huge waterfall shower and double pebble sinks. Swim up room looked over the pool which is lovely albeit freezing cold although I’m sure this would be refreshing in peak season. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool and on the beach. Beach service was excellent as was the service everywhere the staff work so hard and the quality of drinks and cocktails were great. Food was tasty and plentiful with a fussy husband I was delighted that he enjoyed every meal. Only thing to mention is the food could have been hotter but they will cook to order which is hot. Friendly guests and everyone says good morning etc and happy to chat. We would definitely visit again. Thank you to the wonderful staff who make our holiday so brilliant.…
What a brilliant holiday we’ve had, we cannot fault this hotel. Without doubt the TUI Blue Zante Maris is the best all inclusive hotel we’ve ever stayed in. Food was exceptional, we were intending to eat out a little during our stay but as the food was so good we eat at the hotel. The drinks are excellent, good beer and the cocktails were wow and all served by friendly waiters to your table or sun loungers. The evening entertainment was also great, a mix of bands, singers and traditional Greek dancing…which we were a little dubious of but it turned out to be really fun. Finally the staff, the best ever, very very friendly and seemed happy to be at work.
This hotel does not deserve the 5 Stars awarded by Tui. The Tui Reps and local staff cannot be criticised; they were all extremely helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough to help the guests. The problem lies with the food which was very disappointing. Most dishes were cold, the soup on occasions was hot but most of the time luke warm. Fish dishes were always cold, the chips were hot if you were lucky to be there when the tray was refilled. Salads were very tasty but on occasions, quiche from the previous evening which was dried out was added to bowls the following day. The rooms are very rustic which I guess is the style of the hotel but were very dark; extra lighting would be useful. The main area of sunbeds on the beach front were maintained and kept tidy each day but to the left of the hotel there is an area which could be called an overspill which was nothing but a piece of wasteland used as a dumping ground for broken building material and the sunbeds were in a sorry state. Complimentary beach towels are in need of replacement very old and tatty. Having said all this, we did enjoy our time there because of the kindness of the staff but I do feel the hotel needs either to up the ante with regard to the food or reduce the 5 Star category.…
The hotel is lovely and modern every where is kept clean staff are around all day making sure it is kept clean and safe. We arrived late evening greeted with a fresh flannel and a cool drink after filling in the usual form we were asked if we would like to go to dinner which we did there is a good choice of food catering for everyone the only thing I will say is the food could be warmer but in saying that some dishes would dry out so there has to be a line somewhere. If you eat from the grill the food is fresh and hot and there is a good choice. We also are lunch a few times in the beach restaurant the food there was very good but the choice was small. We missed the Al Carte Dinner which we were disappointed about because I was not well that night but everyone said how nice it was. Drinks are good but some could do with been better local spirits are not like ours so you have to double up but the cocktails are good we found the person the did the best so you knew we got good cocktails everything. The bedroom was clean, bathroom good shower slow at times, fresh towels everyday if you need more just ask.Sheets were changed every other day and you could ask for more changes if you put the little blue card on the bed. When we arrived there were 3 litre bottles of water and a bottle of red wine waiting also the fridge was full we found our fridge did not get very cold that was the only problem. The lighting is very low in the bedroom also but the balcony was lovely and we got sun in the afternoon and evening we could watch the sun go down while we had a drink before dinner which was lovely. Tea and coffee facilities are in the room and are replaced or you can ask at reception and they will get you more. The hotel is about 5/10 minutes from the local village there is plenty to do there we also found the Aqua Park, mini golf, horse and cart on the beach there are all your usual activities speed boats etc. At the hotel you walk straight out on to the beach were you have loungers and brolly to use for as long as you like to use them and there are plenty so there was no need to rush to get them same as around the pool there are plenty of loungers. Waiting staff are very good in all parts of the hotel. If you have any problems or questions just ask all the staff are only too happy to help we found all the staff had a smile for everyone and everyone a smile for them it was a lovely relaxing holiday and we met some lovely people and of course Ken and Marie who we think made everyone's holiday they were the fist to dance and Ken would dance with anyone he joined in with all the games and they were a lovely couple to met on holiday. We had a lovely relaxing time with nice people. …
This is without doubt the best ever all inclusive package holiday we have been on. Staff so friendly although on occasion attentiveness was lacking in valet staff, but once you are on their radar they were consistent. We had room 120 a swim up room with inland view. We didn't use the pool much at all as it does not get much sun but was still nice - I would either go for no swim up room or pool facing in future. The room however was clean, comfortable and serviced to a high level throughout. There always seemed to be spare sun beds on poolside and beach front during our holiday. Other guests were so relaxed and eager to have conversations with their neighbouring beds/tables at all times. Staff are fantastic overall and service levels are high throughout the hotel in all departments. Food was of very good quality although I feel did not change much however given the quality this became a mute point. Entertainment was excellent. Plenty to do and plenty of TUI reps to help you out and get you involved. We hope to return soon.…
