Stayed here for our friends wedding, I couldn’t recommend it more for a relaxing hotel stay. The hotel is beautiful we stayed in the premium suites, which I would highly recommend. The room was big and spacious and had a beautiful balcony, all the amenities...More
I love everything about baobab but senior staff e.g restaurant head , head cook, receptionist & operator. Head cook we had a problem instead of listening he snapped at us and walked off at dinner time he avoided us. Head waiter reserves tables for specific...More
Well done, folks of Baobab. Great service, good clean spacious rooms, excellent pools. And I must mention!- there are some great hotels at Kenya coast with simply bad beach; and that beats the purpose of mere being there. The beach at Baobab is second to...More
Spacy clean rooms, every part of hotel ( kole kole, baobab, marinading) with pools and restaurants. Many activities. All in package very good. Staff super friendly. Beach clean. ˋBeach boyś do not come onto hotel property to try to sell things.

Hi. We faced the exact same problem during our visit in July 2017. It seems the management of the hotel needs to go back to the drawing board to streamline check-in and check out processes. The last thing a guest wants is to arrive at 10 am and check into the room at 2 pm. From my observation, in our case, I think the room was available but there were no staff to do housekeeping. The cleaning team looks overstretched. This seemed to be the trend everyday in the morning when new guests were checking in. Baobab is a great place and I would plead with its management to address this issue which has been cited by so many reviewers.

There is a BOOK in reception with hotel prices. We took a driver half day trip to Mombasa but can’t remember how much we paid. There are some agencies in a hotel offering trips and safaris but they are more expensive, too much as usual. If it comes to safari- go on the beach and there is a local agency doing safari almost twice cheaper offering the same or very similar safari options. If you want a trip to ukunda village and school ( highly recommended) I can give you a telephone number to a person who showed us around twice ( once village and school with kids and then Sunday mass in a church). We are constantly in touch with that person and school director. Amazing experience
