Fantastic Sunday lunch, I have been here for other meals, lovely food well presented, nice setting overlooking the river, well worth a visit in this little town, don't know much else about this little town as I only come here for the good food, situated just off the A69

The hotel did us proud! They produced an excellent buffet for 25 hungry people. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely friendly staff and good atmosphere. Great site by the river. Must be great in the summer.

Called in for a pub lunch of steak pie, huge, including separate dishes of vegetables, and chips, and scampi (huge amounts), home cut chips, salad including garnish of strawberries and physallis - gorgeous, could not fault it in any way. The owner and staff were very welcoming and we will definitely be visiting again.

Great lunch with matching service. Very friendly staff. Food is always top quality. Only 10-15 minutes drive into Hexham. A nice stop off if you are travelling across to the Lakes. Dogs seem to be welcomed. Also on a nice day it's nice to sit outside by the river.

The hotel is in a fabulous location right on the river, with a lovely decked area outside which I imagine will be popular in summer. We both ordered the...

Very friendly and helpful front of house staff, we stayed in room 7 which was lovely and even though some parts of the stairways and corridors are a tad tired this is still a very nice hotel with a local pub and restaurant which served better than expected food. Really good breakfast included in price too. We are regular visitors...

A great venue for our overnight stop. Excellent evening meal and breakfast the following morning. The sausages were particularly good. Good room and facilities and the staff were very friendly and helpful including storing our bikes in a safe place. Thanks very much - The Chainsnappers

I stayed as part of a shooting party the night before a shoot. The welcome and service were good, the food perfectly fine and the cost extremely reasonable. The rooms are simple and possibly overly warm. We had to leave fairly promptly in the morning and there was a minor issue when the chef had been given the wrong time...
