Excellent B&B with friendly and helpful owner. The family room is really good, with comfortable bunk beds and an ensuite bathroom. Good Breakfast and local beers. The lounge is a boon for families, allowing you to get the kids to sleep. The property is close to the wall so Housestead is easily walkable.

The old repeater station is really close to the wall so was really convenient. The room was really nice with an ensuite bathroom. Breakfast was the best part of my day. The host is really welcoming, good to chat with. Best place we stayed along the wall.

Les is a great host who makes fun of everybody and fortunately I found I was in agreement with all his political views!!!!Fod was excellent, large library of books and quirky setting in the old telephone exchange.

Les is a delightful host who welcomed us to the re-purposed repeater station B&B on Hadrian's Wall. The place is run in a very eco-conscious way, to reduce your impact on the environment. Not being originally built as a guest house, there were quirks, but we felt they add to the charm. For example, the ceiling was very low on...

Les gave us a very warm welcome and showed us to room 5 a lovely room with great views and an enormous on suite. The room was comfy and cozy and clean. Great hot chocolate and earl grey tea bags in the room was a nice touch. Les is very helpful in directing you to good food and also good...

We stopped here on night two of riding the Hadrian's cycleway west to east. It's a little off National Cycle Route 72 but only a short pedal down from the ruins at Housesteads. We arrived near dusk having not sorted ourselves dinner. It's not really riding distance to a pub for dinner (and definitely not if you're on foot) but...

The proprietor is very warm and welcoming. The accommodation is not. No hot water and heating only on briefly . Very dated fixtures and fittings. Advertised as a four star B&B ??. Its just above a hostel. We stayed two nights and had a vehicle. Its located right on the military road very close to the wall. If you are...

I arrived after 7 hours trekking on Hadrian's Wall going East to West. I was shattered and Les offered to prepare a dinner. The fish pie, fresh vegetables and french bread went down a treat. The B and B has a communal lounge with a television. Formula One was on the television and Les made sure his guests felt at...

We stayed with Les, the proprietor, at the end of our 4th day walking Hadrian's Wall, and I have to say it was a one of a kind B&B. Les is a great guy and even though he's probably 65+, he's still a great host! When we were staying here for instance, one of the other guests managed to lock...

Les is the proprietor and a fancier of classic race cars like his Ferrari. He was a great host and he and all the guests stayed up late with wine [Les is a single malt lover which reflects some Irish roots]. Comfortable room with large bath. Very cozy man cave to socialize in. Easy to get to by the AD122...
