Had a wonderful stay here. Hotel with 15 minutes of Edinburgh city centre. We have a premier inn plus room and it was fabulous! Really modern and new and felt really cosy and had everything we needed. The staff were a real credit. Really friendly and helpful

Hotel's Favourite
This Premier Inn is conveniently situated just south of Edinburgh. Easy access from the east or west main routes and into Edinburgh. Although on a main route it was very quiet. Like most hotels we experienced noise from the room above but they obviously woke up earlier than us. For our needs this was a convenient stayover

Recently stayed here for a fortnight for work (chosen by my company). It was very clear from the outset that they were short staffed and this was affecting service- not being acknowledged at the front door, the wait time at reception/bar/dinner, the short tempered staff and the general hospitality of the staff. Eventually, another manager was drafted in to help as they were struggling so much. We were a large party but the staff really struggled to accommodate our needs, specifically sitting together, ordering together, getting our food out (some orders just never appeared despite reminders) and generally making our stay enjoyable. We all understand the pressure of being short staffed but it was like the staff had no care for whether we had a comfortable stay or not. All in all, we were really disappointed that each of us were worth 1k of accommodation for the fortnight, plus the cost of drinks and food, and we were treated so badly. Would absolutely not go back.

Had areally nice friendly welcome from receptionist Amy after a bad journey down the A9 with serious hold ups in road works. Thank you Amy! We have stayed here before so knew what to expect - a clean room with all needed for a good night. The hotel is very conveniently located for travel around Edinburgh and is of the usual Premier Inn good quality.

We commented about the people upstairs being very heavy footed on the first night, and was told by reception staff she'd mention it to them. ( I had hoped for a room move away from the elephants upstairs). It made absolutely no difference for our last night. Other than being woken through the night with people pacing the floor, we enjoyed our stay.

We booked an overnight stay at Premier Inn A7 Dalkeith as we had a very early appointment at Shawfair and wanted to arrive relaxed instead of negotiating early morning rush hour traffic ! The Plus rooms suited us and were very reasonable for the level of comfort and service ! We would use this Premier Inn again
