Stopped here whilst working in the area. First impression was that this was a typical country pub. It was fairly busy in the bar so they reserved a table for me for everything meal.

Room was ok but decor a little tired.

Went down for evening meal and was given evening menu. Despite requesting vegetarian meal option when booking there was very little choice. Even the vegetable risotto was offered with Parmesan cheese which contains rennet. Settled on home made cheese pie. This was ok but a lot of pastry. Sticky table a little off putting.

Bed felt hard but slept ok despite this.

Vegetarian breakfast was half a tomato, scrambled egg and a few mushrooms. No attempt to offer plant based meat substitute to replace bacon, sausage offered on full English or either an extra tomato etc., filled up on toast.

I felt room at £70 BB was over priced, £50 would be more inline. Payment taken when I checked in without knowledge rather than following morning at checkout. Only found out when I offered to settle evening meal.

Overall disappointing stay.

Spend a sunday night at The Wentworth Arms after going to a concert at Castle Howard.
Check in was a little confusing at first as the entrance was off to the side of the bar and with no actual check in desk we had no idea where we were going....however we were greeted by a really friendly and helpful staff member at the bar who showed us to the room and made sure we had everything we needed.
At first site the room was great. A large twin room with a separate sofa and TV. Coffee/tea facilities and shower. However on closer inspection it was clear it was quite basic and the bathroom was quite tired and in need of some real TLC. The tray the coffee making kit was on was dirty.
The price for the two of us was only £70 and this came with breakfast (which was really nice and freshly cooked) so as a couple of blokes just after a place to sleep on the cheap we were more than happy with our stay

Outstanding customer service. Good value wholesome food and pleasant atmosphere. Stayed with our 2 kids in a family room. It was a little tight and bathroom quite small but where this inn loses out in some finishes is more than made up with wonderful staff approach. Vegan meal offered with several options off of the standard menu, portions all great and tasty pub food. Breakfast again very accommodating to each of us having different needs and really felt welcomed. Some areas are a litttlevtored but its clean, good value and top tailor service.

Nice staff, pleasant room, good food. The radiator/towel rail in the bathroom could have done with a coat of paint, and the toiletries hadn't been restocked (apart from the soap, but as we were only there one night that didn't really matter), which were the only minor niggles. The whole place needed double glazing for the road noise but that's not a cheap job in a place this age and the past couple of years have not been a financial breeze. There were a lot of regulars in the bar/restaurant which was a reassuring reflection of the quality of the food

Excellent service and the food was amazing. We were out for a family meal. The owner and her staff made us feel completely relaxed. The food was the best i"ve had in a long time. Restaurant quality but without the restaurant prices. Amazing food, very reasonably prices and lovely service. Can't wait to visit again. Highly recommend. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Very disappointed with this stay. Room was very tired and I have to say dirty. Food was below average at best (chef skills were very limited). Worst of all was the extreme noise from the bar area until 1.30 am from the Elvis tribute singer. It was so noisy you could feel the vibration from the music in the bed and hear very clearly conversations from the bar through the floor. To top it all, there was a scuffle/fight right outside our window as the locals left. Breakfast was good and the bar staff worked very hard to give good service, however, if we’d been informed of the potential for noise beforehand we’d have not booked. I’ve stayed in better places in India than this and I don’t count myself as a snob. Be warned about staying here!

We stayed at Wentworth Arms Malton for 2 nights. From the moment we arrived to check in we were warmly welcomed. Its a family run accommodation and pub with every family member and other staff being very friendly. We had excellent meals and the homemade food was delicious. My food intolerances were catered for and nothing was too much trouble. We had a good night sleep before our breakfast of tasty bacon sausage etc. We can't wait to come back here as a base to explore the North Yorkshire moors. We'll done staff and family.

We needed a place to stay for one night after a day out at Flamingo Land. After googling B&Bs this came up as the most reasonably priced for myself my partner and our 15 year old daughter. emails were answered promptly, politely and efficiently. Room was lovely, clean and beds were really comfortable we all had a really good nights sleep As we were arriving late staff booked us a table in the pub restaurant food was amazing portions were huge. Breakfast was freshly made and very tasty, but one thing overall stood out for us and that was the staff. The bar staff on the evening of our stay were friendly, cheerful and extremely helpful and efficient the pub was busy but there was no waiting or delays. the lady who cooked and served our breakfast was just as friendly and cheerful even though it was early morning and she was doing both the cooking and the serving by herself. there was no waiting or delays and food was delicious. thank you for making our stay so enjoyable (we were exhausted) we will definitely be back again our 15 year old wants to try the chicken burger.

We stayed one night, we had a small twin room with bathroom across the hall. We thought private bathroom meant en suite. It was not an issue. The room was quite small, 2 single beds a desk and a chair, plus hanging space. In need of a bit of an update, but actually adequate for our needs. We ate our evening meal there, as a coeliac I was well catered for, including gluten free bread and burger buns. The food was nice plain pub fare home cooked. The breakfast was also very nice. Would stay again but possibly pay for a larger room with en-suite.
