Fairly clean room. Bed large and comfortable. Unfortunately there was no fridge to store alternative milk. So I put my milk on the outside windowsill…. I don’t like the taste of the tiny pods of milk… Breakfast was good. No complaints. Lots of people in the pub downstairs, but that didn’t cause us any problems with the noice. Very small car park… completely full when we arrived.. We managed to shuffle our car with the late night chef.

Highly over priced for Malton. Which is a non event place where everything is shut down, with very little of interest, unless you like a couple of charity shops. Avoid the whole town, it’s not even pretty. And definitely avoid anywhere that charges more than 50 quid for the night.

Recently returned from a lovely weekend away in Malton. Our stay was made even more enjoyable by the team at The Mount. From the hugely friendly welcome by Callum, the attentivness from Jane and Mark to the care received from housekeeper (Pauline?) Incredible views from our room which was immaculatly clean and comfortable to the hearty Yorkshire breakfast and a Sunday lunch that was so filling and tasty. Ideally located for easy access to the town - literally 5 minutes on foot. A cracking time away and we will be back. Cheers to all!!

We had a great 2 night stay here. The staff were very welcoming, we were relaxing with a beer by the roaring fire within 10 minutes of arriving. We had a very good meal on Friday night, lovely vegetarian risotto and fish and chips. They had good, well kept beer. It's a great location on the edge of town, very close to the Monthly Food Market and boutiques around the town. Rooms are a little basic but the hotel is good value. Breakfast was plentiful and quick!

All the basics are first class - we were met with a friendly welcome, given our key and the necessary information, breakfast time etc. Our room was at the top and on first entering a bit disappointing, very plain and not exactly spacious. It wasn’t exactly sparkling clean either, blue paper bits left on bathroom floor, presumably used for drying it off and dust around the edges. Windows could have used a clean as well. However! The bed was very large, 6ft and extremely comfortable, the shower was good and hot, the room lovely and warm and the tea and coffee etc very generous. We had dinner in the restaurant and again, rather disappointed by the menu but the food was excellent, couldn’t fault it. Breakfast the next morning was very good as well. We would definitely return.

We stayed in this hotel last month for 1 night having initially booked for 4. We asked for a quiet room and were given one over the bar which was not great but the main problem is that most of the rooms face a busy road with traffic all night. we therefore told the staff and were offered another room up two further flights of stairs which as we are nearly 80 was not acceptable. We therefore said we would leave and to our astonishment were charged for all 4 nights. we offered to pay for one more but this was declined. To say I am angry is an understatement ,

We spent one night at the Mount and enjoyed our stay, would visit again. Staff very friendly. Our room was booked late and I am sure there are better rooms, ours was at the top of the building and clean and adequate. Breakfast was very good as was the evening meal, Recommend the steak pie! Not far to Mathewson's Classic car auctions which was the reason for our visit.

This is my fourth visit in as many years to the Mount. The hotel ticks all the boxes for me, close to the station, free parking, reasonably priced food and not far from the town centre The owners and staff make you feel welcome
