Got a 2 night deal through Expedia for this hotel having never stayed here before, we stayed Sunday and Monday nights and given a room on the top floor overlooking the front grounds and the open countryside so had great views. The room was large with a comfortable king size bed and bathroom had both bath and shower. We found...

A night away with my wife was spent at The Talbot Hotel. We stayed bed and breakfast and found both perfectly fine. The room was comfortable and the cooked breakfast was extremely nice. We had a drink at the bar but didn't stay for pour evening meal. All the service we received was excellent.

We have been to the Talbot before, when they provided an excellent lunch in the Wentworth Room for a family birthday and produced a fantastic chocolate birthday cake at the end of the meal. But we had not stayed overnight. So, as we were meeting family in Whitby, we decided to break the journey with an overnight stop in Malton...

Stayed at the hotel on the Groupon deal which included the 5 course tasting menus. Arrived 2 hours after check in to find our room wasn't ready and told they 'had no idea' how long it would be. Suggested they find out and was advised someone was now starting to clean it. As wasn't offered I asked for a complimentary...

The Talbot Hotel is steeped in history, and you feel it when driving into the hotel grounds and looking up at the front facade. If you're that way inclined, feel free to read more about the property over the years whilst waiting for your first drink in the bar, which was a little longer than expected, but gave us time...

An old building at the end of the Main Street with some good views across the valley. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the rooms pretty good, with en suite wet rooms in at least two of the rooms. My room was on the ground floor facing the road, but wasn't noisy in the least.
