I booked the racing special package for my parents and my husband and I for a Fri race day at York. We have stayed here before and really enjoyed it. The staff were great and went out of their way to make our stay special as one of the party has some special medical requirements and so organised a taxi...

We stayed here in May for a Monday night. Maybe we were just unlucky, couldn't fault the quality of the building, room etc and maybe someone's car alarm going off at 3.00am coloured my judgement (not always good to be in a room facing the car park) but we felt pretty invisible as guests here. Nothing you could really define,...

Got a gift voucher for this place from one of our sons, otherwise it would have been well out of our league. On arrival though you can see why it justifies the price it does. The building itself is impressive with cracking views. The room was stunning, almost as big as our bungalow and the bed was enormous and really...

My husband and I stayed here for two nights with our little Sheltie, Sandy. We were very impressed with our room which was spacious, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. On arrival we were greeted by very professional, courteous staff who were always helpful throughout our very enjoyable stay. Food excellent at all times and very polite service in the dining...

Stayed here for a family weekend get together. Rooms, food and service all very good with varied menu options cooked to an excellent standard. Possibly need to vary the menu a bit as we stayed for 3 nights with the same menu (choice of about 5 different starters, mains and desserts). Village is very nice with the food festival being...

Booked a night here for a birthday treat for my husband. Lovely rooms. Staff are so friendly. Food excellent, expensive if staying for a few nights, a great treat. Will go back again with dog in toe as dogs are aloud in the hotel but not the restaurant.

Really enjoyed our 2 night stay in this hotel. We had a lovely room overlooking their lawns. It was spacious, spotless and serenely quiet! Ate at the restaurant on the first night. The food was very good but it was slightly let down by poor service. This was our only disappointment. The restaurant staff would benefit from some extra training....

Stayed here for one night whilst on an evening visit to Castle Howard. There is plenty of parking. Rooms are very comfortable and shower was great. Wi-fi worked fast enough! The breakfast was fabulous. Everything was cooked to perfection and the sausage was very tasty. Would certainly have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Been this time for a stay to sort out arrangements, once again the staff were exceptional it very much has the private country house party feel about it. The quality of the rooms are excellent although vary in size due to the...
