The owner /manager Dave was so warm and friendly together with all his staff. The food had an exceptional variety also for vegetarians and was presented beautifully, the evening meal was delicious, and the breakfast was fit for a King. I will definitely recommend to my friends to go here ,and will definitely be returning, thanks to everyone there.

We stayed in Middleton over Christmas and visited the Teesdale Hotel several times. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant on our first evening and were impressed by good food and service. Dave, the barman, made us feel very welcome; particularly on Christmas day when everywhere else would have been closed. Thank you!

Went in for a quick lunch on the way to see highforce. The bar is in a back room with a nice open fire. Interestingly the menu is written on the wall and was huge (both size wise and the number of options) there is also a smaller menu of sandwiches and light bites. We opted for sandwiches as we...

We had a lovely weekend staying at the Teesdale. We felt very welcome, the food was lovely and the room was warm and comfortable. Yes, the furnishings are dated, this added to its charm. Had a lovely walk up to High Force before a couple of drinks in the bar and a lovely 3 course meal. Breakfast was delicious. Would...

We visited the Teesdale having decided to take advantage of a dinner/bed/breakfast deal on a Saturday night. We had read the reviews on TripAdvisor and were prepared for something of a mixed bag. It became clear upon our arrival however that the bad reviews came from people like Mrs Richards in Basil Fawlty's famous establishment (look it up if you...

Stayed for 2 nights , great value, room fine, stairs a bit of a climb. All staff very friendly and nothing too much trouble, Dave the owner great guy, plenty of chat and a real character. Bar area very homely with roaring fire and hand pulled beers. Food can be eaten either in the bar or front restaurant. Excellent food,...

Enjoyable stay here, nice atmosphere through out the hotel and nice bar area. Some people could argue that it needs this , that and the other doing to it but it is what it is- a pleasant enough hotel which does the job for a night or two.True, it could do with sprucing up here and there but it was a...

Pleasant enough hotel. Staff very nice and friendly and tried to be helpful. Everything ok but not particularly good. We were disappointed with our evening meal on our first night as we had been recommended this hotel and food by friends. The first course was delicious (crab and scallop chowder) but main meal of halibut and seasonal veg was awful....
