A little outside of Marahau situated, this hostel provides you with all your needs when staying in the Abel Tasman national park for a few days. Easily accessible by car and the bus can drop you off at the corner. When you do not have a car you can take free bikes for a 10 min. bike ride to Marahau....

Here you feel like your staying out in the bush miles away from anywhere but your only a 10 minute drive from where the activities happen. It's quite and clean. The showers and kitchen are in a separate building from where you sleep but its not to far away. With no light pollution you can sit and look at the...

My partner and I arrived in the afternoon and were greeted by the owners friendly dog. Walking into the reception we were greeted by the unenthusiastic lady who owns the lodge (along with her partner I think). We were first told not to throw a stick for the dog as it was too hot for the dog to be running...

My partner and I stayed here after our hike in Abel Tasman and it was the perfect spot to shower, unwind, and stargaze. It's so peaceful, and the facilities are great. Fully equipped kitchen, lounge area, and laundry. Just what we needed after a 7 hour day of hiking! The owners, Cath and Al are very knowledgable about the area...

The staff were welcoming and helpful and I can imagine that in nice weather the location would be relaxing and beautiful- however... We booked on the same day we arrived, a rainy afternoon for an an overnight stay en route to Nelson. The website fails to mention that the bedrooms are in separate buildings to the kitchen/bathroom, to the lounge...

The location is really nice. The hostel is situated in the forest so i'ts really quiet and peaceful. But, we were disappointed about some stuffs. First of all, the kitchen is too small. The wifi was not working at all. We stayed there for 5 days, but my daughter who was staying in the camping 3km from us could't even...

Many positives to this rustic backpackers including great location (minutes drive to Abel Tasman), very helpful & friendly staff (family-owned), and large, practical communal kitchen (with a gas stove, large fridge, and great selection of products to utensils). Rooms are clean, showers are hot, hostel is well kept. A few of the drawbacks: No lockable luggage space in room. Free...
