A special weekend away as a couple to relax, recharge, treat ourselves and indulge in great food. We flew in for 2 nights and absolutely loved it - even though raining and misty it was truly a wonderful weekend away. The staff were fabulous, going the extra mile and the room was very good.

Awaroa Lodge matches excellence in accommodation and service with the natural beauty of one of the loveliest places on the planet. Trek on the superb trail for one or many days or take the water taxi and then enjoy the luxury of the lodge. The service and the food are as good as it gets

My friend and I stayed at the backpackers within the lodges grounds. It was an amazing secluded spot with people coming and going while walking the track. The best part of staying there (aside from the pizza) was being able to do a sea kayak from Awaroa rather than from Kaiteriteri. Josh runs Awaroa Sea Kayaks from Pepper lodge. He...

We read some of the reviews and set off to Abel Tasman and to stay at Peppers Awaroa. When we arrived by boat we were met with a beautiful bay, golden sandy beach, beautiful back drop and sunshine. Our luggage was taken ahead while we were left to walk along the beach and then 5 minutes along a track to...

Awaroa Lodge appears like a mirage in the midst of the New Zealand bush! It's hard to believe such an incredible place exists so far from the services of modern life- and yet it does so with style and a relaxed vibe. The food and drink was a real highlight- the one woman operated pizzeria was fantastic- efficient and delicious...

We had 2 nights at Awaroa Lodge in a standard room. The bed was comfortable but took almost all the available room. No indoor table and a single chair, so the bed had to double as a sofa on a wet day. The rainfall shower was fantastic but limited places to put toiletries and towel. The staff were all friendly...

Given the remote location this place is well equipped and the staff are extremely friendly and the quality of food was amazing. We went to the pizza bar and it was a nice relaxing place to have a pizza and a beer!

The location of this lodge hotel is fantastic. Reception staff were very helpful and there are superb walks around the area (even though we did get a wee bit lost turning a 1 hour walk into a 2.5 hour walk!) Dining was fine, but slightly expensive and breakfast buffet was limited - surprisingly no fruit on offer.

Walked from Marahau to the Lodge via 2 DOC huts. Nice bit of luxury to contrast the hut lifestyle! Beautiful food. Very comfortable bed and room. Took a water taxi to Totaranui for an additional day walk back to the Lodge. Such a stunning coast. Nothing else like it in NZ. Loved it.

Kia Ora, thank you so much for the feedback. The walk from Totaranui back to Awaroa is my favourite part of the track and I'm glad you've enjoyed just as much. Hopefully we'll see you back here at the lodge one day. Best regards, Max

I wouldnt normally complain, but as a group of 4, we all felt the same way. I also looked at previous negative feedback and it was very similar to our experience. Amazing location, pizza bar great and office reception staff very accommodating, but rest was quite dissapointing. Room was very dark and quite dated, badley ventilated bathroom. No shampoo or...

Kia Ora Lisa, thank you for taking the time to post your review here on tripadvisor as well after we emailed. I am glad to read that you found our location, pizza and front office staff to be fantastic. However I am disappointed to read about the rest of your less than satisfactory experience. We have made continuous improvements over...
