My husband and I had a perfect night in Lismore and our stay at the Ballyrafter! After a long day and over 4 hours driving from Galway and other stops it was the perfect place for us to be. We were greeted by the very friendly and warm Noreen who offered us a drink by the fire...immediately it took our...

My boyfriend and I were looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway for the May bank holiday weekend; somewhere to escape Dublin's hubbub. A friend recommended Lismore and we chose Ballyrafter Country House Hotel for its unique character and as it's set within its own grounds. As soon as we parked we were greeted by a family of rabbits running around...

Ballyrafter House is amazing. Apart from the great location and the lovely house, the hospitality we received from Joe and Noreen really made our holiday. They are lovely warm hearted people, Noreen couldn't have done enough to make our stay comfortable, and Joe cooks wonderful food. I am a fish lover and I had John Dory, Monkfish and Turbot on...

I stayed in Ballyrafter when I was 10 for six weeks (our house was being renovated) and have fond memories of my stay then. This visit proved them all to be true, wonderful gracious old house, each room with a log fire, marvellous atmosphere and genuinely hospitable people. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. I will be back!

We stayed at the Ballyrafter House during the Lismore Music Festival. The weather was horrible, and the owners bent over backwards to make sure that we had everything we needed to stay warm and dry. They even drove us to the festival site and picked us up so that my elderly parents wouldn't have to walk in the rain. The...

We were recommended this hotel by a friend as a great place to stay whilst fishing locally. It did not disappoint. Nothing was too much trouble for Joe and Noreen who dealt with our requests always with a good sense of humour. The room was very comfortable and clean and the dinner which was produced at short notice was exceptional...

This is a very comfortable hotel. The room was spacious and elegantly furnished. The bathroom was spotless and also spacious. The Irish breakfast was substantial and freshly made; I sat in a bay window looking out over the gardens with a newspaper and it was difficult to drag myself away. Dinner at short notice was excellent. Most particularly it was...

If you are planning a trip to the Blackwater this is an amazing place to stay. Incredibly hospitable staff, Joe, Noreen and all the team who couldn't do more to make you feel at home. I travel extensively with my job (would prefer not to!) and have to stay in hotels almost every week. I would have absolutely not hesitation...
