Check in great but room was freezing, informed reception 3 times but nobody sorted it or got back to us about it. We did ask for robes to keep us warm which were then provided. 3 couples in our group. 2 on the bottom floor but the other couple on the top floor. The new years eve party was excellent...

My daughter was playing hockey at Loughborough, decided to treat myself to relaxing break between her games. On arrival discovered the entire England football squad was staying in the hotel. Had coffee at the in-house Starbucks with some of the players. Beautiful hotel and grounds, lovely pool and excellent breakfast. Staff all very attentive.

We thoroughly enjoyed this stay between Christmas and New Year. It was a nice break from the hustle and bustle. We made good use of the pool and fitness suite and the bar. Breakfasts were tasty. It was our second visit, and will probably come here again. Great location for Alton Towers (not open over Christmas though) and the national...

Quite a striking building when you drive up to the hotel. Surrounded by lovely countryside and views. This place is definitely a good hotel if you're a football fan... it's full of memorabilia and football history, plus there's numerous football pitches around if you fancy kicking a ball. Plenty of parking both outside the hotel and within the hotel grounds....

What makes this place so worth the money is the staff. Throughout the spa, hotel and restaurant the staff really are top notch. Very professional but friendly and approachable, I wasn't feeling well so left my dinner and the waiter found me and asked if there was anything I would like instead. We were attending a wedding in Barton and used this hotel for our accomodation. This meant that we needed a really early check-in (11am) and the reception staff could not have been more helpful in arranging this for us.
