Cabins are comfortable and fully equipped, nice to be able to pick some veggies to add to dinner. Pleasant quiet area, helpful staff. Road is challenging, but can be done. Do not bring a trailer or large RV.

My friend and I had wanted to experience McCarthy and explore Kennecott Copper Mine for YEARS! We finally made it happen in June of 2016 and we LOVED it! The town is quaint and charming; while the mine's history is incredible! Since I live off-grid in Talkeetna, Alaska, I didn't want to camp out. So we searched for lodging. Currant... More

Arriving on motorcycles, we were very impressed with the quality of the rooms. the road to McCarthy is a challenge if on motorcycles [as well as cars if you are not up too it]. But ... the panoramic views and solitude are the payoff once there.

our family of 3 stayed in Copper (cabin name), with a beautiful view of the mountains from July 3rd to the 10th. The cabin is spacious, clean, has a bedroom with queen bed and a sofa bed in sitting area, full kitchen (no microwave or toaster oven), full frig, gas grill outside on deck. Parking is on site. The Schidners... More

We enjoyed our stay at Current Ridge. The cabin was very nice with a wonderful kitchen and comfortable beds. It was clean and inviting. There are beautiful views from everywhere on the property. It is charming, modern cabin in a very remote area. I would highly recommend it and would visit again. The owners were very nice and accommodating.

We had an awesome 4-night stay in Currant Ridge. It's the perfect jump-off point for exploring Wrangell-St. Elias. It's located before the McCarthy foot bridge, so you can drive up to the property and park your car next to your cabin. No need to drag your travel gear across the bridge using a wagon. We brought our own bikes and... More

Currant Ridge is comfy and clean with a wonderful view. I was sad we only stayed one night on our way to Seward. If I ever get back I would gladly stay again. Our rooms had nice, big bathrooms which was such a treat on our trip. The breakfast was wonderful and our host very nice. We also enjoyed the... More

Our cabin was spotless and charming! And it was just what we needed after 5 days in the wilderness. Great comfy bed, nice shower (boy did we need a shower!) and kitchen. I only wish we'd had more time to hang out there! Thank you!!

Our family greatly enjoyed our 2 nights at Currant Ridge. The location was about 10 minutes from the footbridge to McCarthy. Our cabin was wonderful and unexpectedly large. The porch had awesome views of mountains, and it was just so peaceful to sit outside (mosquitos notwithstanding). There was a full kitchen and a living room with a pullout couch. The... More

So glad I stayed at Currant Ridge for the Fourth of July weekend. I had my bike which makes the short 2 miles to town and toodling around town and even biking up and back to Kennecott really enjoyable. No need for a car once you park at your cabin at Currant Ridge. The cabins are clean, the bed and... More
