    I would say that McCarthy is as remote as you can be in Wrangell St Elias without camping in a tent. It is not easy or inexpensive to get there but well worth the overnight visit. Two reasons to be there--to see the old Kennicott...More

    What a wonderful place!! The people are friendly and very diverse. Ma Johnson's was great, comfortable, clean rooms, no problem with sharing the bath with other guests. Very relaxing, enjoyed the beautiful flowers. Nice visit to Kennicott Mill, wonderful raft/fly trip. Loved The Golden Saloon....More

    No. The hotel is only open seasonally. Check their website for dates.
