My wife and I stayed at Poronui for 4 nights in January 2017 and both had an amazing time. I had 3 days fishing with my guide: the expert and very patient Grant. I have fly-fished for 40 years, but this trip surpassed anything that had gone before. I was lucky enough to land 17 beautiful, strong fish in the...

Poronui Lodge was one of my favorite places we visited in New Zealand. We have been on the go for 2 weeks and we were finally able to relax. We fly fishing for two days with Duncan. Duncan was THE BEST! We are not experienced fly fishermen and he was very patient and very good. We loved his sense of...

The absolute finest flyfishing and guest ranch we have enjoyed in 35 years. 5 stars in bush food and wine is 5 stars and the guides and staff feel like family after two days. Non Anglers are equally at home with multiple activities for all the family. We plan our return as we write this!! Big fish and bigger hearts...

What an amazing place Poronui is! We spent 3 nights there in November, and despite the heavy rains, our time there was unforgettable. We loved the fact that it is still quite small and the staff takes such good care of their guests. We felt part of their family. The food and wines are amazing too. It is definitely a...

There is no place better in the world than Poronui for fly fishing, The guides are very professional and most likely you will catch some of the biggest rainbows in the shoutern Hemisphere. The hospitality is second to none and "Eve" runs a magnificent operation as well as being a great chef. We have been there three times with my...

We are from Sydney and were very keen to experience some time away in NZ at a luxury fishing lodge as my husband is a keen fly fisherman. We have just returned from 4 nights at Poronui and are already planning our return for a much longer period. Right from the start we were so warmly welcomed and provided with...

An absolute must do for all New Zealanders to get back to the tranquil reality of exploration. Top rate facilities and service from the staff we encountered, Eve, Elizabeth and Chris was excellent. We were made to feel like family friends and nothing was too much trouble. Our party of 18 (10 adults and children aged from 5 to 18yrs)...

This is a lovely lodge. We stayed in a high end "cabin" but it is much too nice to be called a cabin. There was a living room with comfy leather chairs, gaslit fireplace, desk, and refrigerator stocked with local wine. The high speed internet was very reliable. The personal deck has an amazing view of a fast moving rapid...

We spent two short days at this spectacular place as part of a 2 1/2 week NZ tour, and we will return. Everyone who works there is kind and warm...all lead by Eve Reilly who clearly sets the tone. Fly fishing and horse riding were great. Cabins are clean and generous. The open kitchen and community dining experience were wonderful.
