Flew from BHX ,UK ,the extra domestic flight is tiring, but staff are there throughout to guide you.

Staff greeted us on arrival at the jetty, room wasn’t ready until 1630pm, after a long journey I would have liked the room to have been ready, we emailed the hotel and had a lovely beach villa in the 170,s which wasn’t too far from the restaurant, had a lovely person clean the villa and the evening turn down service was a nice touch, the staff work very, very hard.

The two bikes are a welcome addition, as it’s about 3 miles each way to the fabulous beach,or you can request a buggy, the island is long and care should be taken in choosing your room location, otherwise your too far from everything, we enjoyed the cycle across the bridge to the local village, the beach there is lovely, make sure a member of staff shows you round the chefs garden, also you are given a map at reception, there’s not a lot to see, but it burns off a few calories.
The large pool at dhoni bar is exceptionally large for the Maldives, the food at the restaurant is 3* there is a good choice,it’s not repetitive, our waiter was lovely, I think the hotel was short staffed ,so service can be a bit slow, occupancy was around 75% ,restaurant could be a bit crowded at times, we never starved and there were some good food choices, with different. Staff at pasta, meat, fish stations.

Snorkelling was ok, but we have seen better, hiring of equipment is very expensive, one afternoon there was fish feeding ,did not see a great deal just one shark, and little to see when walking along the jetty, people did say that they saw loads of dolphins on the morning excursion.
There are two bars, service was very, very, good ,the staff from Nepal/Indonesia India work very very hard and always with a smile.
Evening entertainment was lacking ,the singer was poor, tbh, and repetitive every evening, the dj was on another level, more like 18-30 we loved the mixes, but not to everyone’s taste if your of. Certain age ,you need more entertainment
Beach toilets and Meera bar toilets need improvement, no soap to wash hands, no towels to dry hands , this wasn’t a one off, management need to look into this .
Overall we had a lovely two weeks , amazing weather, superb staff who are so lovely and work so,so hard , but remember this is a budget resort, which we enjoyed but it wouldn’t be to everyone’s liking.

This resort is the southernmost property in the Maldives and is well-worth the flight! After 27 hours of flying, I was in awe of the white sandy beaches and crystal clear turquoise waters. The seaplane and the speed boat brought us to reception and we were kindly greeted by Alla, one of the kindest people you will ever meet! After getting things sorted out with our room, we finally got to start enjoying the island. Samad, our "room boy", was exceedingly kind and helpful and made sure our room was perfect every day. He also changed out our beach towels and made us feel so welcome with his conversation. I was very happy that the management addressed all issues promptly and we were able to enjoy our stay on the island - it ended up being more magical than I could have ever imagined! Also, if you have time, visit the local side of the island! The locals are extremely nice and make you feel at home. We visited on Unity Day and were impressed by how included we were made to feel.
Book your Canareef stay today!!! :)

I have left a piece of my heart here, from the moment we arrived until we left there was nothing to complain about as we stepped off the speedboat we were greeted by ice cold flannels and ice cold tea our bags were taken to the sunset villas and from then onwards pure relaxation, chill and impeccable service. Rooms are cleaned twice a day, food what an array of international cuisine many dishes freshly cooked in front of you. With your own designated table for the duration of your stay and our own attentive waiter Hussain. Then the pool bar to watch amazing sunsets great drinks and of course excellent service. The spa is a must visit and definitly make use of the bikes. The dolphin tour bought a tear to my eye with only 8 of us that day experiencing these animals free in the wild. The beauty of Canreef is its unspoilt NOT commercialised and the natural beauty and vegetation is breathtaking. The management really care about what the customer thinks. The sunset villas are a must literally a few steps to the white talcum powder sand. Everyone is smiley happy and nothing is too much trouble. If you are looking for a real taste of soitude peace and a real Maldivian experience this is the resort. Thank you for such an amazing holiday I hope to return soon.

So this is the first time I’ve written a review but felt that the staff really needed praising for All the constant hard work they do making your holiday so special.
We arrived at GAN airport after 2 long flights meet by a canna reef rep from there a seem less flight and speedboat transfer to the island. A lovely welcome from the staff greeting us with homemade fish reeds neacklaces and music. Checkin was quick and slick.
We stayed in a beach jacuzzi room 637 . Aslam looked after us all our visit and got us any thing extra we required, made some lovely beds up for us too. Bikes are provide beware I feel off in the soft sand as did a few more while we where there, but that’s rider error ! We enjoyed the bikes to get round and only used the buggies at night when going out . The food is great plenty of it and fresh curry is beautiful and again the chefs all worked to meet any specific requests for guests with dietary requirements. The beach nights are particularly lovely . Our waiter Astim gave us a private beech area which was very thoughtful and kind again waiting staff all work so hard.
Evenings are split between quieter parts of the week to DJ nights crab racing nights (which I won) the prize was a dolphin cruise which is a firm must they are magical ! Dj nights are loud so if you like quite go to the Meena bar which is very quite . Bar staff so many to mention Sorry for spellings Vickham Jessica Dah so many more sorry we can’t remember your names to mention everyone .beach at the beach bar is lovely and Haymal is there to show you sharks and sealift we saw a eagle ray while we went on a small boat tour. Beaches in front of the villa are rocky so you have to be are where you walk or take shoes.
The hotel is under new management and while we where there we could see huge changes happening, so so much work being done by maintenance on villas and garden areas . After covid you can see the island has gone wild, we didn’t mind this as it added to the charm and we know it can only get better. Some ares are closed so when they finally open again a restaurant and pool area closed it will be higher rated. Staff get a five star for me and hotel 4 . Some suggestions torch in the room although we used our phone, iron in room . Letting people know what’s going on during the week an simple handout on checkin of what nights things are happening beach night crab racing pool tournaments etc would be helpful and encourage people to attend more. The wonderful Didi informed us all week on the event as and when we saw him he is the star of the show, king funny and will help with anything he even went to the pharmacy for me which was so kind . Thanks to everyone we will come back x x

Dear guest, We are truly grateful for your first-time review and your kind words that acknowledge the relentless dedication of our staff in making your holiday exceptionally memorable. Your journey to Canareef, from the moment you arrived at Gan airport, was seamless and welcoming, thanks to our dedicated team. Their handmade fish necklaces from palm leaves and musical greetings set the perfect tone for your stay. Staying in one of our Jacuzzi Villas was an excellent choice as it is our most spacious villa category. We appreciate your understanding that, at times, the soft sands pose a challenge to bikers. However, we are delighted that you made the most of our bicycles, discovering the island's beauty or by a buggy when you wanted to get somewhere quickly. Our culinary team takes great pride in delivering delectable meals, and it's wonderful to know that you enjoyed the fresh curry and our chefs' commitment to catering to your specific dietary requests. The beach nights, an integral part of the Canareef experience, were made even more special by the thoughtfulness of our diligent waiting staff like Asim. Your detailed account of the evening entertainment showcases the variety we offer, from quieter evenings to lively DJ nights and the excitement of crab racing. Winning a dolphin cruise prize must have been a fantastic experience, and we're thrilled that you found it magical. The dedication of our bar staff, truly shines and we will ensure your compliments reach them! Exploring the beach with Hemal and spotting marine wonders like sharks and eagle rays adds a layer of adventure to your stay, and we're delighted to have offered you these experiences. Your valuable suggestions, including the provision of torches in the room, in-room irons, and event schedules on check-in, are noted and will be considered for enhancing our services. Lastly, we deeply appreciate the acknowledgment of our excursion guide, Didi , who embodies the spirit of our team, always ready to assist and bring a smile to your face. Thank you for considering a return visit. We look forward to welcoming you back with open arms, ensuring that your next experience with us is just as exceptional. Well wishes and many thanks from the entire team!

We stayed 5 nights in Suite 225 which is conveniently located by the 50 metre pool🏊‍♂️ the bar which has excellent entertainment and the restaurant. From our transfer collection at Gan airport and transfer by speedboat across a 20 minute lagoon trip to Canareef, the assistance, care, good humour and provision of information were great. Our suite was on the sunrise side of the island which offers great privacy from the terrace because there are trees and shrubs between the suite and the beach, but the beach is only metres away. The pool is superb for swimming and sunbathing or simply reading under a shady umbrella. The wait staff in the restaurant provide bespoke service. Our table waiter had a fabulous sense of humour. He should have his own comedy show. And the bar staff at The Dhoni were also delightful. Sea views from the bar and beach just metres away. Multiple pool tables, dart boards, a table tennis table and lots of board games. Do not miss the fish feeding at sunset by the main wharf. Lots of reef shark, a sole turtle and big trevally fight over the food for at least 15 minutes. We didn’t snorkel or dive due to our health conditions but lovely people we met there raved about both experiences. The dolphin cruise was amazing - spinning dolphins so entertaining. And the night time highlight that really perfected the ending of most days was the Dhoni bar DJ, Shashe, Shashe is an incredible DJ with all the great songs for getting you to dance. Dancing on their sandy dance floor is wonderful. And he is handsome and charming.
I don’t need a suite over water or an underwater restaurant. I like people and the people who work at Canareef make every experience a pleasure.
We will definitely return.

We spent two nights at Canareef after three full days of activities at Addu. The resort arranged speedboat transfer from Addu. We had opted for an all-inclusive package and stayed at the Sunrise villa. As the resort is quite vast in area, buggy service is available on call 24*7 to transfer guests from the rooms to different parts of the resort. Bicycles were included in our package. Bicycles with kids' seats are also available on request. We had drinks at Dhoni bar (which also had a live band) and dined at Kilhi restaurant. Good variety of drinks and food. Resort is fit for a short laidback vacation.

We had an excellent holiday at the Canareef resort staying for 10 days in March 24.
The accommodation (Villa 618) was fantastic, very roomy, colourful décor, air con worked well and in a lovely setting. The Canareef team did a lovely job keeping supplies topped up (including the free water), sorting towels and even sweeping the patio and sand outside. We did swim a bit immediately outside our room but preferred to go to the Sunset Beach or the pool.
The food was very good. We only used the one main restaurant but there was a huge choice and the menu was different every day. We have never seen so many curries!
The resort is spread out but travel is through beautiful scenery. We used the free bikes a lot to get to the restaurant/pool (one direction) and to the bar/snorkelling (other direction). On a few occasions we used the buggy service and that worked brilliantly, we never waited more than a few minutes.
Our favourite part was the snorkelling at Sunset Beach. There are an amazing number of small fish in crystal clear waters. It is tidal but you can go out hundreds of yards without being out of your depth. We did see one turtle which was a highlight.
All staff were very welcoming, cheerful and worked hard to ensure everything was more than satisfactory, even the men filling in the potholes would give us a friendly wave as we passed on our bicycles.
We went on 2 extremely good excursions, the dolphin cruise and the snorkelling trip. We saw hundreds of dolphins, many jumping out of the water and the snorkelling along the reef was both thrilling and crystal clear.
The only down side is the long journey and the waiting between flight connections. I think it took us 27 hours to get home! The holiday was well worth the long journey however.

The most incredible place ever. We were totally spoilt. A tropical paradise with white soft sand, the most breathtaking Ocean life, marine and plant/Coral. The staff were so discreetly attentive, gorgeous jacuzzi villa, various, delicious eclectic food with very engaged chefs and staff. Even did food to order if there were any requests. Beach staff were so accommodating, drinks to the sunbed, trips out to the little island nearby and snorkelling with the beach manager/lifeguard, Haymal in his boat. The bar staff and reception staff were excellent. The housekeeping team also deserve a very special mention. Our villa was beautifully attended to with daily flowers on the bed. Special thanks to all the people who rake the sandy roads/cycle paths every day and kept them so clean, they worked hard.
We dived a lot and the dive team were exceptional. The icing on the cake.
Thank you all, it was a blast and I dream of the magic every night since we have been back. A truly extra special trip and I will never forget the experience.
Thank you Canareef from the bottom of my heart.

We stayed in Canareef Resort Maldives 23.01-04.02.2020 and definitely picked the right resort where we had the most amazing experience!

We chose sunset villa and it was absolutely the right choice! Sunsets were just breath-taking and white sand lead us right to the beach.

Big thanks to all the stuff who helped us with any question and were very kind.
Especially, we would like to send many kind words to our waiter Shafiz at Kilhi restaurant, who were just amazing in every way, so helpful and so kind! Also, we would like to thank and send greetings to Hassan at Dhoni bar!

All in one, we were so lucky to have so many happy, positive and helpful people around us! And to add wonderful views, fantastic reef, great activities, clean beaches, delicious food and good weather - can say it was like a paradise for us!

And also, people who are looking for a quiet place for emotional recharge then it's definitely THE right place to go!!!

Villas are spacious on either sunrise or sunset side of the island and cleaned twice daily. Huge pool at Dohni bar and smaller pool at Meeri bar, we arrived in quiet season so felt like ww had pools to ourselves. The water was azure blue and warm, beach bar area best for snorkeling which was a first experience for the group. All staff are by far the best we have ever had. All staff are welcoming and greet you no matter which area of resort they work in. A very friendly place to visit and such a relaxed atmosphere. Our waitress Rena - very attentive and such a lovely young lady, in the restaurant the Head Chef and cooks are present to ensure you are happy with the food, the curries are amazing (butter chicken and nan was our groups favourite) everyone in our group was in agreement with that, the chef was hired from India just to do the curries (name unknown sorry) great decision, absolutely no issues on the food at any dining times, food was just the best. Good that chefs are about and talk to you asking how you are enjoying the menu. The resort Manager is very friendly, approachable and is always about, so good is the atmosphere that he and Shashe played 'international' pool and had a laugh with good comaradery. The evenings in Dohni bar consist of movie night/disco hosted by the dj Shashe, dance music so good that we never left the dance floor until it was end of night. Shashe did his best to play all requested songs to ensure guests are happy, a very friendly and energetic guy who spoke to all guests and made us all feel very welcomed. A place where I would gladly return to.

Hi, when we went, the dolphin trip was $50 each - I seem to remember and the snorkelling trips were $45 each. This was Sept/Oct 2023.
