We cannot take credit for finding this idyllic destination, Ava from Blue Bay Travel should be sought for all those looking for paradise at price to suit the majority of budgets .The canareef resort is located on an island which is 4.7km long. Expect white powdered beaches , aqua marine ocean , and the peace and tranquility that one can hope for when you leave a fast paced working life back home . The accommodation is rustic , we were fortunate enough to be staying in a sunset villa on the beach front . The rooms are tendered twice a day, fresh towels and linen daily . There is one main restaurant which may sound unusual for a 5* but the food is varied and the dishes on offer suit the majority of tastebuds , however there is a a la carte restaurant too. All you need to bring

My wife and I spent a wonderful week at Canareef. Rooms are neat and clean. Wide range of food for all types of tastes. My wife is vegetarian and was never short of choices. All the staff are friendly and helpful and willing to assist with any query. We went on the the resort snorkel tour and a private snorkel tour through the Watersports centre. Both were excellent. Good snorkelling at the south end of the Island from the beach as well. All round a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

It’s 7am and the sun is shining - I am writing this review whilst still on my holiday looking through an open set of sliding doors of our Sunset villa. The view is framed by coconut trees and what a view it is . A white sand path leading to a white sandy beach with calm crystal clear water. The sounds are as follows Gently lapping waves as they break on the beach The sound of a gentle breeze passing through the large coconut trees that surround us Birds Scuttling of hermit crabs on the rocks at the edge of the path All in all not a bad way to wake up every morning . The beauty of this island is that if you want that seclusion element you can have it; there are so many beaches where you won’t see another soul all day or you can go to one of the pools if you want to have

We got a fantastic deal through Secret Escapes, which made our stay even better at Canareef. It's a lovely resort along a long thin island right down the bottom end of The Maldives. Our sunset beach villa was lovely. Big, with a whole separate area where we could store our clothes, bags, food, toiletries, electronics, swimming gear and so on. The bedroom/lounge area was really nice, with a modern TV with USB and HDMI inputs to watch our GoPro footage each day. The beach was a short walk along the sand to our semi-private area. It rained a little bit while we were there, but we still saw the sunset on one of the nights. The resort is nicely laid out with restaurant and bar areas, a place for children to play, spa, tennis courts, gym, dive centre, shop, chefs garden (visit to

Dear Armrestdominance, Thank you for taking your precious time to write about Canareef Resort Maldives on TripAdvisor. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and thank you for your comments on the Resorts rooms, facilities, services and staff. With regards to your comments of Domestic Transfer flight, you are correct that we are able to get the Transfer at a cheaper rate as we deal directly with the airline. We however can only act in facilitating the purchase of the air ticket for the flight but cannot be responsible for delays or cancellations of flights which is beyond our control. Thank you again for your comments and we look forward to having you as our guest should you wish to visit us again.

As an avid diver, I will always consider Canareef resort when exploring options in the Maldives. Why? For the excellent value I get in terms of accommodation, meals, accessibility and well, the diving, of course! I’ve had the pleasure to stay here in different months: Aug, Dec, Feb and April. The diving did not disappoint during any of these months. On each occasion, I’ve stayed there either solo, as a couple or together with family. First the accessibility. Canareef is located in Addu Atoll where there is an international airport. This means one has the option of bypassing the busy Male airport, avoiding a domestic flight and arriving in Addu via an overseas airport and on an international airline. In our case from Singapore, we flew on Sri Lankan Airlines via Colombo

Dear Phyllistan, We firstly would like to thank you for taking the effort to write on TripAdvisor on your stay at Canareef Resort Maldives. We thank you for your repeat business and your comments above. Yes, you are correct when advising that it would be easier to reach Canareef Resort Maldives through Sri Lanka via Colombo as we have 3 direct flights a week Colombo to Gan island and from there a 15 minute speedboat ride to Canareef. This would also shorten your journey and you would not have to go to Male and take an additional Domestic flight. We are glad that you found our Accommodation, Food, Services to your satisfaction and appreciate your additional wonderful comments on the Sub Oceanic Dive Center and its services. Thank you again for your comments and we hope be able to welcome you once again on your fifth visit with us. We would also like to take this opportunity in Wishing you and your family a Happy and Prosperous Chinese New Year 2020.
