We are just back from a great relaxing holiday with friends and family would definitely return to hotel again only down side was rude barmaid who let her colleagues down. The entertainment team where brilliant and food was always fresh and varied
Absolutely fab stay for me and my boyfriend. Arrived quite late on our first l day but we were glad to know the main restaurant closed at 10.30pm so we could grab something to eat after our long journey. It’s about 1 hour away from the air port so make sure you grab something inbound and outbound ! Friendly and helpful staff! COVID test in the hotel so you don’t need to venture out ! €35 for the test and the room is just behind reception. Read instructions on the wall for how to book, very simple ! Very clean and sanitised hotel and restaurants! Wonderful food plenty of choice, if you love fruit there’s LOTS, if you like wine well there isn’t much choice and I wouldn’t recommend the Prosecco , but apart from that it’s a nice selection of all inclusive drinks. The beach is about 10 minutes walk away, no toilets, no immediate access to anything so if you go be prepared with everything you’ll need. Pools are great, the main pool with all entertainment is heated , we spent most the day in there, lots of shaded places for those not a fan of the sun, only thing that lets the pools down is people who don’t wash off their sun creams and oils, as at the end of the day this would all be gathered in the corner of the pool, which is full of holiday makers clumps of hair, plasters and general scum. I cannot hugely complain about this place and would recommend it to all, we have already considered returning with our children next time.…
Recently returned from a 10 night stay at the occidental jandia playa, and would never rate this hotel 4 star, on arrival met by one of the most miserable reception staff ever Steffen no welcome no smile just a very stern face, we travel a lot and the worst we have ever met just issued key cards and went through formalities, our room was in block 8 which is a long walk from reception up a hill and approx 100 steps we had informed the tour operator that my wife had knee problems but this obviously fell on deaf ears. Our room was very dated with no draws and the painting in the room and balcony was appalling with more paint on rotten balcony rails than walls, there are no tea or coffee making facilities maid service is hit and miss we had to call reception after the maid not coming in for two days, food is reasonable with quite a selection but don’t eat outside as seagulls waiting to pounce there is netting up but it does not cover all of the area and we regularly saw seagulls eating from plates which my wife has photographed, pool area reasonable although there are a lot of broken tiles and they are very slippy when wet, all inclusive drinks are reasonable although sometimes long queues getting them entertainment is hit and miss but usually just about watchable would we return probably not.…
Having just come back from a good week holiday here is what we found The hotel is lovely and very clean. There is some updating to be done but nothing to spoil your holiday. The food was plentiful and a good selection. Good location but a quiet island with not much to do but was fine for us. The only draw back is the hour transfer from the airport but overall would go back
From arriving to departure of the hotel we really couldn't have asked for much more. Booking in on the day was good even with our room not ready we were invited to go to the restaurant to get some lunch which was nice after a long journey. Our room was clean and tidy in a quiet part of hotel with a seaview which was ideal. Rooms were cleaned everyday. Food and drink throughout the hotel was of a good standard and available throughout the day and night. Facilities were also good with pools etc. Location was about 5 minute to the beach with also some shops on the way. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.
First of all, yes this hotel does need a bit of updating but on the plus side, our room was much bigger than we are used to with a huge wardrobe space, cleaned/towels changed daily and the staff were friendly. There was always a good choice of food in the restaurant with different freshly meat cooked meats etc. Bottles of wines, beer on tap and soft drinks were available to help yourself to at mealtimes. There were always sunbeds available around the pools (even though a few people still reserved with towels) and the pool bar served lovely frozen cocktails. We had a beachfront room at the front of the hotel and the paths to the main building with the restaurants and pools can be quite steep but it helped to work off all the food we ate :) Evening entertainment was pretty disappointing and although we went each evening, we only stayed a short while. The beach is amazing, perfect white sand and the bluest sea! with a lovely beach bar/restaurant. Beware if visiting when the wind is strong as the sand whips around your legs. There are a few shops a short walk from the hotel with the usual touristy stuff and a duty free shop selling perfume, handbags etc but nothing else in walking distance so we were thankful that we were all inclusive. Overall, we spent a lovely chilled out week here which was much needed…
The hotel was really clean the food was really nice the staff was very friendly and went above and beyond for us me and my daughter really enjoyed our week there we would highly recommend this hotel entertainment every night was good most nights and by the pool entertainment was good fun also the spa and massage was amazing if your looking for a relaxing and fun time with great food n drink and vibes this is for u
Nice pool, lots of shade available, beach is just a little walk across a road, food decent and always available. Staff friendly, most don’t speak English but didn’t have any problems with this. Rooms clean, pools not too busy, cos always find a lounger.
We went to this hotel for a week and really enjoyed it. The hotel was clean and staff were very friendly. Plenty of seating around the pool and in the restaurant. Lots of entertainment on an evening and throughout the day in the pool for children. A lot of people comment about the food not being good but this wasn’t the case when we stayed here. There was plenty of variety and good quality and themed nights throughout the week such as Chinese and Mexican themed nights. Honestly couldn’t recommend this hotel enough.
Certainly not 4 stars, 2.5 stars at best. Not suitable for disabled people (despite the hotels own website and Tui stating it was) as on a hill with very steep slopes / steps. 2 of my party have hidden disabilities and really struggled getting around. No organisation for getting to rooms not in the main building - 2 golf buggies used but a complete free for all to get them. The door to one of our rooms opened half way then got stuck on the floor - had to be lifted to open fully. Wooden barrier on the balcony 2 floors up nearly gave way when leaned against - extremely dangerous. No information folder in the room detailing things to do in the hotel and resort, no operating times for the restaurants / bars, no info about car hire, bike hire, etc. No tea / coffee making facilities in the rooms. Ceiling fan not working in one room and hairdryer hanging off the wall with exposed wires. Massive hole in the cupboard housing the fridge, which was nowhere near cold enough. Water pressure terrible - slightly more than a dribble at best, and water temperature either too hot or too cold with no happy medium despite our best efforts. Paid for a safe which then remained locked for 2 days until being opened at the 4th time of asking. Damaged and broken tiles round the pools and on steps. Tiles not non-slip and absolutely deadly when wet. Some pool loungers under cover but umbrellas are needed for those out in the direct sun. Waste bins around the pools were constantly overflowing, with empty paper cups and straws blowing in the strong breeze. Paintwork and rendering very shabby everywhere. Drinks put on a ‘tab’ with no indication of cost (half board only) leading to a hefty bar bill at the end of the stay. The first night in the restaurant, you just followed everyone else - no help / direction from the staff, most of who gave the impression of wanting to be elsewhere. One of our party had a nut allergy but there were no details about ingredients (specifically nuts) in the food. Peanuts were found in one dish which could have proved fatal!! We had paid for breakfast on our last morning which we didn’t get as we were not advised the restaurant would be open for people who had early flights - our pickup for the airport was at 0625. We eventually ate at the airport. An external smoking area outside the restaurant was near steps which were often blocked by smokers. No information folders detailing excursions etc in the rep area, just a whiteboard with limited information. There’s nothing to do at the hotel save for lounging by the pool or using the spa / fitness centre if you are someone who wants those. Neither were there any activities/ water sports etc at the beach (when you eventually got there - there are no signs to it and it’s quite a walk). The nearest things to do were at the other end of the 4km stretch of beach (tip: download the Bird app and use the electric scooters to get around). The crazy golf course at the hotel was laughable - completely flat and featureless. We went to the Jandia Mar (up the hill) and used theirs, which was absolutely brilliant! If you want a quiet holiday, then this is the place for you. If not, it’s not for you. We were there for 7 days and were bored for the last day.…
