My wife and I stayed at Inkosana Lodge while hiking in Monk's Cowl. The lodge is situated ~15 minutes drive from the park, so it's a great budget jumping off point for hikes. Based on the website and location, it's no surprise that most of the visitors to Inkosana are there to hike. Luckily, Ed the owner, takes personal responsibility... More

Hi, thank you kindly!!!!! , the reataurants are actually open to 10.00pm, we use the best fresh farm produce. The bathrooms are open-air with no doors or windows so insects do fly around , Ed More

This lodge is a great place to relax and offers all the needs of a backpackers. In addition to other lodges in the area (only offering expensive guided hikes), the owner offers very valuable advise on any self guided hikes (basic to experienced), not only in this valley but also several valleys up north and south: he has done all... We stayed here for 3 nights with our 3 boys, ages 12, 9 and 9. We had one of the large ensuite rooms, which was big, bright and clean. We self-catered and the kitchen facilities were very good and you don't have to do your dishes as the staff takes care of that. There is plenty to do and see... More

There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this place. It was love at first sight for me. The beautiful surroundings, the possibilities for energetic or simple walks, hikes, restaurants (car required), assortment of sleeping possibilities - we had a tent with us. The eco-pool for swimming, the pleasant staff and proprietor. Visit to Drakensburg choir was great (I don't... More

Inkosana is a peaceful oasis. Very beautiful place, nice people, great landscape! If you like to just hang out, you just spend your time in the lodge, enjoying the view, the garden, the books, papers or games or a jump in the pool. I found this lodge in the Coast to Coast book provided by the hostels in Sud Afrikka. I was very impressed with its location, it layout, the rooms, the food, the service, the outside adventure opportunities available in the area. Very clean, quiet, well run, good value for the money. Yes, very nice. MP

From the start inkosana staff and management was warm, caring and helpful. I especially appreciated the fact that the manager took his time to work out routes we could walk based on our walking experience and fitness levels. The staff also cleaned our room everyday and they washed all our dishes. Definitely value for money.

This is a beautiful rustic lodge and great if you just want a plain and simple place to drop in and chill out or base yourself here and explore the surrounding area – it has basic accommodation with shared facilities and up market quaint Rondavels (Thatched round huts) with private facilities – everywhere is fresh and clean – a basic... We only stayed for one night but the owner was super friendly. There is a beautiful garden where the great smells of the flowers overwhelms you. We went with a small camper van. And there weren't really camp spots. But we saw the rest of the accommodation and it all looks very well and neat. So all in all we... More
