My husband and I were there for 2 nights. Everything was really perfect. The location is beautiful, just ten minutes drive from the entrance to the park. We slept in a rondavel, simple and at the same time really beautiful and clean. The premises are fabulous, with nice tables and chairs looking onto a great panorama. A lovely round pool,...

Comfortable accommodation and warm even in winter months. Hot showers & comfy beds. Well kitted kitchen for self-catering with grocery shops nearby despite rural location. Soup & sandwiches were offered for evening meal, but we chose to cook so can't comment. Don't worry if you haven't planned hiking routes before you arrive- Ed, the owner, is very knowledgeable about the...

This lodge was very beautiful, surrounded by mountains and set in lovely gardens. The braai places and kitchen facilities were very nice and there was a large comfortable, common room to relax in and use the wifi. The owner, Ed, was very helpful with things to do and see in the area. We stayed in a double hut with a...

The only thing we regret is that we stayed for one night only. We were on the way from the Amphitheatre to the Sani Pass and it made sense to get some rest half way. The family room is basic but has everything you need. We stayed in July, which was exceptionally cold (- 8 degrees C) but were provided...

Hi , thank you for the kind review. We have never had -8 here, that could be the top of the peaks at 3300m, we may have been zero.

We visited the lodge for a weekend to attend a wedding locally. Such a nice homely atmosphere and a perfect location. Ed with his wealth of knowledge of the area and his great meals makes a great host. Rooms were simple but clean, living area and gardens are excellent.

I stayed in one of the rondavels, nice and quiet. Loved the fact that, if you eat from his kitchen (rather than cook your own), as well as nice food, the owner Ed gets you all to sit round the table together - it meant I met some really interesting people. Great location for hikes of different levels, and for...

The dorms themselves are quite basic, nothing special really. We stayed in December at the peak of summer, and the dorms got exceptionally hot which made sleeping a bit difficult at times. The swimming pool is more of a dam, as it has not been maintained properly in years, however a few brave people did still swim. Wifi and laundry...

We endured a heat wave in the summer of 2015 as never before, mercifully it broke just before christmas and temperatures normaliised. We have an eco dam and the exceptional heat for 3 months made the flora go mad, we did explain this to guests. I have never heard of free personal laundry, We charge a one off fee of...

My husband and I spent 2 nights here, and really enjoyed it! We stayed in one of the rondawels with an en-suite bathroom. It was clean and practical. The lodge is very conveniently situated with great views, a few minutes away from Monk's Cowl Park, where we enjoyed a lovely hike; as well as many other attractions. The owner is...

Very good B&B with very friendly and helpful owners. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. This was a nice stay even if there is nothing to do in Bergville. It's just a starting point to go trekking in the Drakensberg

My sister and I booked in here for a berg long weekend and we were really impressed with the efficient staff and the clean rooms. The facilities were perfect and we had everything we needed. We knew we would arrive late on the first night and so opted for a dorm room, but after that we moved to the camping...
