My wife and I recently stayed three days with Tom Larsen and his lovely wife, Charro. Our experience was personal, intimate, rewarding, educational and thoroughly enjoyable. Tom's commitment to sustaining and improving the Amazonian physical environment, coupled with his ongoing support of the indigenous communities, uniquely distinguishes the Arajuno Jungle Lodge. Charro's contributions can't be underestimated as well. She personally...

The Arajuno Jungle Lodge is a great way to get a bit of an Amazon experience. With only a 2 night stay, 2 of us were able to go on a guided walk through the jungle, kayak, learn about the conservation efforts, mark and measure a yellow spotted turtle, and relax in a great environment that rests in the midst...

We had an excellent stay at the Arajuno Jungle Lodge. We opted for the Bird Lovers Special and found our experience to be of very good value. Run by former Peace Corp volunteer Tom Larson and his charming wife Charo, the property is adjacent to the 2,500 hectare Jatun Sacha Reserve giving us a definitive jungle experience. Hearing Howler Monkeys...

Our extended family (ages 5 - 65+) thoroughly enjoyed our overnight at the Arajuno Jungle Lodge. Our host gave us a guided tour of the grounds, as well as a nearby animal refuge, introducing us to local wildlife and efforts to protect endangered species. The home-grown food was delicious, and cabins were quirky but comfortable. Warm water in the showers (!)...

We were two travelers looking for birding, wildlife and relaxation. We found it at arajuno lodge. Tom and charo were very friendly. Charo made incredible meals. Tom had great projects working on his property to support the ecosystem and region. The birding was excellent for our first stop in the amazon. We saw over 60 species at arajuno lodge. To...

I recently co-led a 3-week learning abroad program for 19 students to Ecuador. We stayed for three nights at the Arajuno Jungle Lodge. Tom and his wife were great hosts. Although only a short canoe ride from a nearby store, it is about 45 minutes away from the nearest town. The cabins were clean, cozy, and comfortable. There are no...

Went here in the summer of 2014. Great experience. Food fantastic. Cabins very comfortable. Lots to do. The same guide is assigned for the week. Ours was very good for our children. Perhaps not the most knowledgeable respecting botany & birds - he was a great story teller and entertainer. Worked out great. Recommend the experience. NB - I got...

We spent 4D/3N at the Lodge. After arriving by the water taxi we found ourselves in the middle of the jungle and what an amazing treat it was. Tom is the perfect host and ensured that anything we needed we had. His wife Charro prepared unbelievable meals each day. She could have her on cooking show as she is that...

The Arajuno Jungle Lodge provided a wonderful week for the student group and myself. We had fulfilling morning each day doing volunteer work and afternoons for relaxing and learning more about the local area and the initiatives propelled by Tom for conservation of this beautiful sector of the Ecuadorian rainforest. We did not only have an educational experience though, the...

Tom provided a really informative yet relaxed experience at Arajuno jungle lodge. We enjoyed our time learning about the property and the area. The food, prepared by Charro, was "riquisimo" :) and very plentiful. Our guide, Miguel, was very knowledgeable about the local plants and animals and his enthusiasm was apparent. We had no problem getting to the lodge using...
