The lodge has a very nice location in the Amazonian rainforest of the Shiripuno National Park. You get a good feeling of solitude and exclusion, a nice Amazonian experience. We had hired a private guide for this trip in hope of seeing something extraordinary. However it was a lot harder to spot animals than we expected, and as the other...

My third trip to Shiripuno had not been planned. After staying at Shiripuno Lodge and Siona Lodge I planned to go on another trip but that trip was cancelled due to an emergency and, upset and confused, I phoned JUNGAL TOUR and talked to Maria Wijkmans. This lady was amazing! She not only organized my tour in less than one day...

We went at the end of Dec 2014 and spent New Years eve there - an amazing way to start 2015! It was such a fantastic experience to be in such an isolated, beautiful place with so much wildlife. Yes, the tarantulas were a little scary and there were lots of mosquitoes, but it's definitely an experience you cannot miss....

There are other Amazonian eco-lodges along the Napo River, but Shiripuno Lodge along the Shiripunoi River is in a league of its own. Access is first by vehicle 90 min from Coca to a point on the river, from where you ride 4 hours to the lodge in a motorized canoe. If the water is low, there are snags everywhere...

You are literally in the middle of nowhere when you go to this lodge. We flew to Coco, then took a 1 1/2 hour jeep ride to the river, and then a 3-4 hour motorized canoe ride down the river to reach the lodge. Despite the long commute to get to your destination, it's worth the experience to see, hear,...

First, I got to say, that I was some kind of suspicious. 6 to 8 hours out of civilisation (depending to the water level of shiripuno river), no electricity, poisonous snakes, tarantles, mosquitoes and malaria. All my doubts went into nothing. I had a really amazing time at shiripuno lodge. A very well english speaking guide. Two local guides and...

After my first visit I fell in love with Shiripuno Lodge so much that I decided to go back. This time I was extremely lucky because I was the only guest, with Miguel Suarez as my naturalist guide, Margarita Enomenga as my local Huaorani guide and Marco Andy, the lodge manager, in chrage of everything else. Margarita was my local...

Sensational, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Beautiful, remote location in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Abundance of wildlife at your doorstep. Lovely Huaorani hosts who make you feel at home. Food is excellent, as is the cleanliness and standard of accommodation facilities. Guides also brilliant at their job during hikes, and equally as welcoming. Cannot emphasise enough how much of a 'must' this place is...

We stayed here In February and Fernando Vaca also guided us for our first week in Ecuador before getting to Shiripuno for 4 nights. Fernando runs Shiripuno and is passionate about the conservation of the rainforest and incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of wildlife (we are birders but with an all-round interest). It was the start of the rainy season...

We stayed in Shiripuno lodge for 4 nights. Getting there takes a lot of time; first you need to get in Coca, then there is a jeep ride during 2 hours and after this there is a boat ride during 4 hours (the exact duration is weather dependent). The boat ride is a great jungle experience itself as you can...
