We stayed 2 nights at this coffee farm. The lodge was very nice, with clean, nice fresh beds and a lovely port outside. The garden was green and well kept. Our meals were tasty and good. The service might have been the most impressive, with personal treatment during our whole stay. 50 meters outside the farm we found fresh elephant...

I was on my Safari adventure trip and I spent two nights at this awesome Coffee farm which is on a hill with excellent view. Staff is wonderful, Rossie is a wonderful and ever kind cook and James was my driver, a very passionate hard working man with over 25 years of experience in the field. This farm reminds me...

We stayed at the Ric Lodge for two nights as part of our safari. It was a blissful respite from the long, bumpy hours in the car during the safari. Rosie, the cook/manager, is an excellent host. She greeted us with cold wash clothes and fresh juice upon our arrival. The food was delicious and plentiful. Rosie was also responsive...

Our family of 4 stayed at the farm in end of December 2014 as a last stop in Tanzania. Great place for peace and quiet. The staff were excellent and made us feel very welcome. We really enjoyed the tour around the coffee farm and definitely recommend this place. We hope to be able to come back one day again.

Our family of 4, including two children aged 11 and 13, stayed at the Ric Lodge as part of a game drive in the Arusha area. The location currently requires a 4x4 to get there, but once you have arrived it is truly worth it. We were greeted warmly by the staff, and after bringing our bags to our room,...

It was a lovely place and the coffee tour was the best bit about it I loved the fact we could pick beans and see the process ourselves. The coffee taste amazing as well. One thing that I didn't like was the fact there were no mosquito nets and there was no were to hang our own.

Dear Katiana, Thank you for sharing your views about our coffee farm bungalow and I am glad you loved the coffee farm tour. We have now put in mosquito in some of our rooms and also up-graded the rooms. I hope you will visit us again when you are in the area and assure you of our best and friendly...

The location right in the middle of a coffee farm, was a great setting. There are only about 6 rooms, which are big, basic, but clean, tidy and have big ensuites with showers. There are no luxuries of wifi, but that was balanced out by the warmth and hospitality from the manager and cook/hostess Rosie. The Customer service was outstanding....

It took a while to find but worth the wait! Peaceful location where we enjoyed fantastic food and later sat round the fire in the garden with a drink. The rooms are very clean, spacious and comfortable. This location is also cooler at night so no need for mosquito nets - one less thing to deal with! There are only...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A HIDDEN GEM 'OUT OF AFRICA' - PEACE AND NATURE IN ONE PLACE The Ngorongoro Highlands Homestead consists very comfortable, quaint, six large rooms and is surrounded by 350 acres of a working coffee farm and situated on the slopes of the Ngorongoro highlands .We take pride in being environmentally friendly by making the most of our rich natural environment and our rooms are also constructed from the local materials. The lighting is supplied through solar panels and the water is gravity fed from springs in the Ngorongoro highlands. All meals are sourced from the organic vegetable gardens and at night you can watch the heavens for an amazing view of the stars from the "bonfire". The breakfasts is superb - homemade toast, homemade jam, honey from the farm's bees, traditionally roasted coffee from the farm. We can also provide you with a guide to walk through the coffee estate which covers some amazing scenery and exotic birds. There are some parts of the property that are still wild and untouched and are great for exploration, the secluded location ensures a high level of privacy leaving you to enjoy the stunning views. ... more   less
