I think there's two different lotus guesthouses in Borobudur, and the one you should check out is LOTUS 2, just on the main road when you go to the temple. It has an amazing view over rice fields and volcanoes, and you can chill and have tea or coffee on the balcony anytime. The rooms are very big, and when...

Just infront of the Borobudur Temple Archaeological site, in the midle of the rice coltivations, wit excellent view, spacy rooms and bathroom, wonderful aesthetics in decoration in balinese style. very friendly staff, full of things to see and explorate about javanese tradition, music and dance. Little bit expensive.

Did not stay here. Stayed right next door at nicer Cempaka Guest house. However, ate twice at Lotus Restaurant and loved the food and juices. Both Cempaka and Lotus are nearby to Borobudur, though you would still need a scooter ride to get to entrance for sunrise.

I stayed here 3 days cause I loved Borobudur and explored a lot with a motorbike they rented for me (60.000 idr a day). My room was 125.000 idr breakfast included, with a double bed and bathroom inside. Not too clean, but fair enough for the price. Only cold-warm water, which is ok for the weather there. Their highlights are...

It's cheap... but that's all... if you stay there, be shure to cover all your body at night, so you do not get in direct contact with the bed (bedbugs)... it would be good to cover your eyes to, so you don't get where you are intending to stay... cockroaches and dirt everywhere... instead of cleaning their facility or lear...

We didn't sleep there, but came for lunch. They are famous for their Soto Resah, and should be! It is one of the best meals I've had in 3 weeks in Indonesia! Very simple place, very cheap, friendly people. I loved it!

This guesthouse was worst choice of our month stay in Indonesia. The room was dirty and broke as hell, I doubt anyone has cleaned it for years. And they took 200 000 for such a mess. If you want AC you pay 300 000! Check what can you get for 300 000 per night (for example basic room in luxurious...
