It is clear to see that the change of hand at the plough has done nothing but better the plough. Exquisite food, far beyond the old pub grub that used to be served. Good service and a lovely atmosphere. I cannot recommend enough. Will definitely be returning.

We've visited the Plough three times (before it was sold recently) and it has become our favourite 'go to' place locally. Nice, friendly atmosphere, pretty surroundings and good service. The menu isn't terribly extensive but there's always something to choose and the vegetarian options are better than those you usually get in a pub. I'd recommend the butternut squash and...

This pub is nestled in a hollow in the middle of a forested part of the Chilterns. There are many footpaths in the vicinity and consequently many walkers make this a popular spot. For those who want to make a holiday of it the Plough provides good quality accommodation. The restaurant is very good indeed and the menu provides a...

Went to plough for the first time on 2 nd Jan and whilst the food was very nice the service was completely chaotic. They got the drinks and the food order wrong plus the salt and peppers holders were empty. Fish and chips and the cottage pie we're excellent but they seriously need to get a grip of the service...

Went to Plough on Boxing Day as we have for many years. But this year, after change of ownership, was unbelievable. We waited 15 mins at bar for drinks and were suddenly told by bar manager, along with everyone else waiting for drinks at the bar, that we would all have to come back in half an hour because they...

We have visited on many occasions with friends and family. The food is excellent. Always a very friendly atmosphere. Today we were here for lunch. The halibut was amazing , together with the steak pies and lamb. We always look forward to returning .

Stayed just for one night after a Christmas party in the bar. Firstly the good points: The bar/restaurant looks lovely inside and the beers were very good. The whole place seems clean and well maintained. Unfortunately the food from the Christmas menu was very poor indeed, the main was served pretty much cold and the turkey was incredibly tough. Starter...

It's public knowledge now that The Plough has changed hands, but so has the specials menu. It's early days for the new owners and I do hope that things improve. We've been going for many years and have always enjoyed it. The Plough has a system that most of their meals from the specials board are £15.95, that includes a...

We have been here on an ad hoc basis as a couple in the past and enjoyed great beer and a basic good pub main meal. So we were really looking forward to coming for a family meal with relatives having travelled a distance. However in managing a larger party with the set Xmas menu, we felt there was a...
