We booked the special offer of 4 nights woth half-board and a 3-day skipass, the price was cheaper than other hotels of the same class. Despite this, we really enjoyed our stay! The owner is very friendly and ready to help. The room is nice, big enough with comfortable bed. The wifi is fast enough. Food is rather average (very basic brealfast), but certainly not dissapointing. Waiters are professionals, friendly and quick. Wellness is OK, 3 types of sauna. Skiroom is big enough. Overally we really enjoyed our stay and I cant think of anything unpleasant. Worth the money.
We booked this hotel as part of a ski package (bus, ski pass, hotel half-pension). It's a quite basic hotel with rather small rooms (unless you are lucky like us and have a third bed in the room). But the room was clean and daily serviced. There is also a free sauna available. Breakfast was good. For dinner we could choose between 2 main courses, and we got starters, salad bar and desert. All very nice. And now drinks during dinner and at the bar were charged to the room, and settled at checkout. The ski room has a heated rack to dry your ski boots and store your skis. If you are looking for a good hotel for skiing, not too expensive, I would recommend Finkenbergerhof.
They did not have a room with a queen sized bed that I had reserved. When the owners were called to address the situation, they became indignant to the point of being unwelcoming - a very curious position given that they are hosts and were in the wrong in this case! By the time they had apologized, I had decided to move to another location.
had a good experience, very friendly owner who went out of her way to make sure everything was ok. hotel is a little dated but the room was big and the bed was comfortable. the breakfast was basic but is what you'd expect considering the hotel is cheaper than other places.
Our room was rather small: only just enough room for a bed, closet, small table and two chairs, but it was quiet and clean. Make sure you request a room in the back; it's a lot quieter (other people in our group complained about noise from the street). Location: quite okay: about 20m from a bus stop towards the slopes (around 9 in the morning, there's a free skiing bus every 15 minutes). If you want to go to a supermarket though, prepare to easily spend 15 to 20 minutes on foot, uphill. Food/drinks: food is okay but not more though; we got the same accompanying vegetables several days in a row, and some of the plates are rather bland, but most are quite good. The drinks are another matter: prepare to pay separately for your drinks at the end of EVERY meal. There's no way to put it on your room number and signing to pay at the end of the week (same thing at the bar, by the way). So you best make sure to have plenty of cash (there's an atm a few 100m further up the road). And then there's something I have never encountered on a skiing holiday before: it's not possible to request tap water on the dinner table. There is free wifi in the hotel, but certainly during peek hours, it's rather slow. Staff was very friendly and helpful. All in all, it's an average ski hotel, with nothing really noteworthy popping out, but I enjoyed my stay.…
Three of us stayed here for a night and we were delightfully surprised with our rooms. They were clean, cosy, warm and spacious. The owner and the staff were very friendly and helpful - always making sure we're satisfied with everything. The only downside was that not a lot of the staff could speak English, but we managed to communicate (with only a few hiccups here and there). Breakfast was great, there were a lot of options to choose from and the owner made sure to fill our coffee mugs before we left the hotel.
The hotel is situated on a very busy street which will compromise your sleep quality. The rooms are clean with very basic decor. The beds are very comfortable with lush duvet covers. The bathroom is a little cramped but ok. The food is good, albeit a little expensive. One night for dinner we were seated in a separate dining area where two groups were cheering on their favorite soccer team on TV. Inappropriate and disrespectful! And last but not least: Check your bills! Ours were more often than not incorrect, and never in our advantage!
very welcoming owner and staff - on arrival shown to bar and registration done there over a beer. Everything explained by owner - room was a double as requested for single traveller here for skiing holiday. Ski room and sauna on site. Room clean with fresh appearance en suite shower and toilet new and bright. Very comfortable bed, quite evenings - room a little warm but OK no temp control except to open door onto balcony. Food excellent good choice and fresh food very tasty and good amounts. Service in dining room attentive but not imposing - settle payment each night for drinks good idea so you know how much costing and no surprises ! Would stay again and definitely recommend to others.
We recently stayed at the Hotel Finkenbergerhof for a skiing weekend. The hotel is ideally located a short distance from the gondola and the free ski bus picks you up from right outside the hotel. There is also a hire shop about a 2 minute walk away. We arrived late on Friday and Eva, Stefan, Robert and Richard made us feel very welcome from the minute we walked through the door. The 3* rooms are what you would expect, but the quality of service from the staff was second to none and couldn't be faulted. If you are planning a skiing trip to Austria then I would certainly consider the Hotel Finkenbergerhof. It is ideally located, has great hosts and made for a very memorable skiing trip.
For a 3* hotel the Finkenbergerhof is brilliant value, and because it is family run has real charm. The service provided by Eva and her husband Stefan (who is the chef), was excellent, the food is superb and cooked from scratch every night. The hotel itself is very quaint & there is a really cosy typically Austrian bar which serves reasonably priced drinks. The rooms are very clean and my only gripe is that they are a little tired, but for the price, you really can't complain. Nothing seems too much trouble to Eva and her crew, and even though she says she does not speak English, she really does. Great place to base yourself for a ski trip, or even a cheap summer holiday. I can imagine Finkenberg and the surrounding area is really beautiful in the summer. Oh, and every room has a massive balcony.…
