Even though it has been a while since we were staying with Veronica in her comfortable and very clean B&B we are still talking about our first accommodation in Sicily earlier this year. The hospitality was second to none. We had delightful conversations with Veronica while enjoying a delicious breakfast. We can not recommend Pietra Luce highly enough. Our thoughts went there again this morning when we heard about the eruption of Mount Etna. We hope Veronica and her family are all safe and there was no damage to the building and the others in the village. Kindest regards from New Zealand. Dorine and Jan M.
it was our best place to stay in sizilia. such a beautiful b&b. the owner, Veronica and her family are so friendly and nice people, it was like we were at home and part of the family. the rooms are perfect, the location so quit and relaxed, and the view from the balcon just amazing! breakfast was like a dream, all fresh from the garden or made fresh by the owners! we will miss and never forget the pietra luce, and we hope we will see the family again in sizilia or maby in switzerland? thanks a lot to Veronica and family for this beautiful 2 days in your b&b, it was the highlight of our sizilia trip!!
Me and my girlfriend sadly only spent one night here, but this place is worth the drive. Our room was excellent, the breakfast was incredible and the hosts are genuinely amazing people. Veronica and Giuseppe are just generally interested in offering their guests the best experience of Sicily. They booked a tour of a local vineyard for us. They are both sommeliers, so you can ask them everything concerning the wines of Sicily. Last but not least, Allume is a really wonderful place to visit. Great for relaxation and in driving distance to most of the northeast of Sicily. Don't miss this place!
This January I have had the pleasure of spending some time at this B&B. Although my travels did not allow me to spend the night I had lunch there with the owners, Veronica and Beppe, and spent a wonderful afternoon with them. Pietraluce is located in a small hamlet called Allume, a few kilometers off the Ionian coast and only 15 minutes away from the much better known town of Taormina. Allume counts less than 500 inhabitants and it is full of ancient history. Beppe and Veronica, are incredibly knowledgeable about this history and very generous in sharing it. Veronica is magic in the kitchen and focuses on local ingredients that she prepares with the care and respect that they deserve. Her food is a celebration of peasant cuisine where everything is seasonal and local. Lots of what they serve is produced by them, on their land and I can only say that a meal there is an experience in authenticity. Both Beppe and Veronica are accredited sommeliers and if wine is your thing you will have found the right place. The area is perfectly situated for a variety of outdoor activities, from hiking to mountain biking to just...doing nothing and the hosts will be glad to guide you and organize . While I did not spend the night I visited the rooms and they are just perfect. I will make sure to plan for some extra time next time I will go to Sicily to visit this B&B again and I recommend it highly to anyone looking for an "off the beaten path" authentic and unexpected Sicilian experience.…
This is a delightful place with all the authenticity of a Sicilian residence. Three floors, neat clean comfortable and secure in every way. The hostess Veronica couldn't be more helpful, providing local color, knowledge a great breakfast and suggestions useful to our group. Why stay anywhere else? Word of caution if driving south from Messina, Google maps will send you to a road that tries to transport "in the back way" Don't take that one but travel thru Roccalumera to the river bed and take the road before the river bed up the hill. These folks WILL meet your needs.
